Vehicle Detail

Up for bidding consideration is a very correct, nicely restored all matching #'s L48 SS Chevelle Convertible with 2 build sheets. This is a very bone stock, 77K mi original car in just about every way. The car retains it's "born with" drive train (L48 350 cubic inch motor, 350 turbo transmission and 2:73 12 bolt posi rear). It also has it's original Rochester Quadrajet carb, intake, exhaust manifolds and alternator. The body lines are very straight and clean with all door gaps lining up factory original. It has one quality re-paint of it's original Mulsanne Blue and retains all of it's original sheet metal. All of the chrome and trim are very nice to excellent condition. The interior is coded for white and is in excellent condition. There are no tears, cracks or fading. When I bought the car I decided to replace the original seats. After removing the bucket and rear seats to bring them to the trim shop I found a build shhet under the passenger bucket pressed up against the burlap held in place by the spring brace. Although a little more worn it matched perfectly to the build sheet that the previous owner gave me. The engine compartment is very detailed with a lot of attention going to originality. It even has it's correct "stove pipe" coming from the bottom of the snorkel end of the air cleaner to the heat riser inlet attached to the exhaust manifold. Even more unusual is the very difficult to find heat riser shield that is braced along the side of the passenger exhaust manifold. It has a new original styled exhaust system right to the correct tips that come out just under the rear bumper. A brand new gas tank was also installed. The trunk and floor panels are solid original and rust free. The spare in the trunk is a matching 5 spoke and jack equipment is properly tucked under it. The car runs and drives beautifully. The power steering makes it easy to do 1 finger turning. The car brakes quickly and evenly without any pulling or shaking. You can cruise on the highway at 70 MPH as easily as you would do 35 MPH around town. It drives that well. The Chevelle's top is black (and new) although it is coded for white. The previous owner replaced the worn original white one with the black one. All of the framing was sand blasted, primed and re-painted and looks brand new. The top is also a power one. Spring is now here with lots of warm weather ahead to drive "topless". So if you are looking for a great show car/driver and don't want to pay the $35- $45K big block price look no further because your fun car is right here. I welcome anybody to come and inspect the convertible and take it out for a ride (weather permitting). The winning bidder will not be disappointed. If the winner feels that I have misrepresented any of this description they can return the Chevelle for a refund less the eBay fees. Thats how confident I am about this car. I'm not an e-mail guy so please don't e-mail me with questions. Just call with any questions and I will gladly go over the car completely with a truly honest evaluation of it with you. Good luck. Bruce. (914) 494-2143.
