Vehicle Detail

1971 MGB Roadster Beautifully restored in Rare Black Tulip over brown Wire wheels Looks and runs excellent I am selling this car on behalf of it's current owner. The car is located in Bolton, MA 01740, for shipping and inspection purposes. It is a rare and exciting opportunity to sell a great car like this not once but twice. I sold this car to its current owner a year ago. At that time I had the opportunity to drive it several hundred miles and it is one of the best driving MGs I have ever enjoyed. The current owner contacted me recently and explained that after a year of ownership and one of the best summers with his son he can remember he is at a point where he needs to sell this wonderful little toy. His son is at an age where he is driving and needs a car. With limited space he has realized that to move forward he must sell this MG. Since he purchased it last year he and his son have added about 3K miles. That brings it to about 97K miles total. Prior to the current owner buying it this car received a complete restoration. It has an excellent repaint in the original MGB color of black tulip. If you have never seen this color in person it is very unique. It looks jet black in low light and in bright sunlight it takes on a dark purple (eggplant) color. It is an original color for this year MGB. However this car was originally a white car. You can still see the original paint in the engine bay. This car has all five chrome wire wheels and correct knock offs. All the mechanicals were rebuilt or replaced during the complete professional restoration. It holds very strong oil pressure and runs cool in the summer heat. Other than a few small drips it does not leak or burn oil. It truly is a carefree plesure to drive. During the restoration the owner decided to give it a more vintage look and found an original early steering wheel. I agree that this was a vast improvement to the overall look of the interior. The seats, carpet, doors and dash are like new. This is an older restoration. I always prefer an older restoration rather than a fresh repaint because the quality of the work shows over time. This paint still looks fresh and shinny as it did the day it was done. While they are a few tiny chips one would expect on a car that has been driven it retains its show quality appearance. This is the kind of car you can enjoy driving all summer and still enter local shows with a real shot at placing in driven class events. The only flaws worth mention are a very small stone chip on the left front fended just behind the headlight. About the size of raisin. Also one of the rivits that holds one of the top bows to it's cross member has come loose and needs to be re-rivited for the top to fold easily. It can still be put up and down but would need this repair to function properly. The time to bid is after you have asked all your questions and completed your inspections. I am selling this car for the current owner and the car resides in Bolton, MA. 01740 Not at my home in Ohio. Please call me and I will be happy to put you in contact with the current owner to set up a pre purchase inspection. 614-352-3434 Once you bid you agree to buy this car, as-is, at your bid price. The final winning bid is not conditional on anything. That is why it is important to call and ask questions now. I encourage all bidders to inspect it in person or have a third party do it for you. We reserve the right to end this sale at any time if the car is no longer available. Winning bidder must pay a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $500 immediately after the auction has ended via PayPal. The balance will be due within 7 days or prior to pick up. Whichever comes first? Balance must be paid in cleared funds prior to pick up. Cash or wire is best. Thanks and good luck
