this was a restoration project that was halted by the owners death, i have put it on a lift to get a good look at it and give the best description i can..from the information i received is that the car was stripped down to nothing but the frame and wheels to be restored, the frame was coated, this list is of items that appear to have been replaced: shocks, brakes and brake lines, fuel tank and fuel lines, electric fuel pump, and springs, the exhaust is also not the original and was obviously replaced and is in good condition, i see no rot on the underside of the car. lots of new nuts and bolts are seen. the running boards appear to have been restored. the wiring has all been replaced with an original type coorect wore harness and is all in place, some of it still needs to be hooked up, such as a few wires under the dash, under the hood, and tail light wires, again they are all in place and just need to be attached,,the tail lights are off but there are boxes of parts and the tail lights and replacement lenses are in there, wing windows are in the box, 2 side glasses are in the box but those 2 have cracks, may need one side glass replaced, there is a window regulator, window surrounds for interior, inside and outside handles for doors and windows are all in the boxes, front door panels were in the trunk, there is not carpet and no headliner. the seats appear to be in decent condition..glove box door is in a box as well as what looks like an original type heater box and fan..a few exterior moulding pieces are in the trunk as well...it looks like almost everything is there, there may be one or 2 small items you will need but not 100% certain, again, it appears most everything is there..the engine bay was painted at the time the car was painted with the engine and trans out, the engine has excellent compression and appears to have been apart for rebuilt as well as the trans and entire brake system, there are new rubber lines to all the wheels installed. as far as engine function, i have so far put a battery in it and it cranks over smooth, i did get it to fire up and engine was quiet with no smoke but did not stay running, the fuel pump seems to be shot, i have ordered new plugs, points and a correct 4psi 6 volts fuel pump and they will come with it, they may be installed by the time the auction is over but no guarentee on that, the tires appear fairly new and have been full the entire time with no leaks, the fuel tank appears to have been replaced, the fuel plug was out so the tank was empty and appears clean inside, i put the plug back and fresh fuel in it....i would argue that there has already been thousands and thousands of dollars into it already. the paint is pretty nice with some chips and minor scratches from tight garage space and storage for a little while but does polish up very nicely.the chrome bumpers have what looks like primer on them but the bumper guards and center "lasalle" section chines up nice.front end parts all appear to be in great condition. i do not think it would take much at all to make a driver out of it, feel free to come look it over or hire a mechanic to do so for you if you are not local..i will assist in getting it out of the garage and to the truck or trailer for loading. the interior is where most of the work is needs, as i said, the seats look decent, there are 2 front panels to go with it, one rear panel is on the car, and boxes of clips, handles , regulators and window surrounds,,most of the window channel felt looks to have been replaced as well as some of the glass. there is a bad with new windlace which will go with it..the car has those great optional fender mount spares that really make these classy looking cars for parades, wedding and show ! a great car for those cadillac and lasalle collectors that has had a ton of time and money put into it and needs completion, there is also a bolt of fabric with it that is the same as that used on the panels to assist in completion..it is for sale locally so i do reserve the right to cancel the auction and all bids at any time. i am listing it at "no reserve" because i am sure it will be bid on. you don't find these with this amount of work done at this starting price anywhere at all ! it will be sold with a bill of sale and a title will be supplied when i receive it from the DMV, it was applied for after going through all the old paperwork and took some straightening out but it WILL be mailed to new owner as soon as it is received by me.. being "no reserve" means the high bid wins, so please only bid what you are willing to pay and only after you have asked all questions and concerns about the car. in the past, people have bid on cars and win, and then i get a barrage of questions, ask first, then bid within you comfort zone ! On Jan-02-19 at 17:47:46 PST, seller added the following information: just had yet another question about front windshield glass and rear windshield glass, those are fine and installed and in good condition..glass is in both back doors, driver side door glass is in, needs vent window glass put in, they come with it, needs one regulator, that comes with it. there are 2 side glass pieces with it but they have a crack so you may need to get one side glass cut for it, but that should only be about $40, they are fairly small and they can use the old one for a pattern..i was also asked the zip code here for shipping quote purposes, it is located in Philadelphia Pa 19111,,i will continue to post all responses to questions so keep them coming. On Jan-04-19 at 10:18:22 PST, seller added the following information: a caller asked about the factory fuel pump ! there is no factory pump on it, it appears that a stock looking plate is bolted over the hole for a factory pump and was sealed and painted when the engine was out and rebuilt. i assume you could unbolt the plate and put a stock pump back on. i have a new electric 6 volt 4spi pump in hand, just have not been up to crawling under there to install it yet !On Jan-04-19 at 15:23:29 PST, seller added the following information: Just and FYI update ! THE OIL WAS FAIRLY CLEAN BUT I DRAINED IT AND FILLED WITH FRESH OIL TODAY AND REPLACED THE PLUGS WITH A SET OF NEW CHAMION COPPER PLUS PLUGS, TURN THE KEY AND PUSH THE BUTTON AND THE ENGINE FIRED RIGHT UP AND IDLED GOOD ! runs very quiet with no smoke, pinks or noises, as expected. On Jan-06-19 at 10:09:59 PST, seller added the following information: i'm a day late with this response, sorry, was asked yesterday about the brakes the question is was asked was "i know the ad says brakes were all replaced, but from sitting for a while, are they working at all?" the answer is yes, i opened the master cylinder to check fluid level and it is full and brakes work to stop the car, i would certainly suggest bleeding all 4 wheels just get any air out of them and flush some fresh fluid into the lines. all the lines are new on the car also but old fashioned standard brake fluid does build up condensation over time so a good bleeding would be wise before driving it any distance, I did have a guy drive down from new york this morning to see it in person and he was impressed with how quiet the car and we drove it around the driveway a bit so he could see that the trans, clutch and all gears are working fine, slides into all gears smooth with no grinding or binding up in the shifter at all...this will be a pleasure to drive when completed.!
