This is an original S code 390 GT 4 Speed car that has been converted to a really nice Shelby GT500 clone. The car has many of the Shelby features, a few including all of the exterior mods such as the Shelby body panels, 10 spoke wheels, NOS lucas fog lights etc. The inside is mostly standard interior, but a nice Shelby roll bar with shoulder harnesses has been added as well as a Shelby center console. The 8k tach is also very nice to have. But the real feature of this car it’s the engine………It’s a 427 sideoiler stroked out with a Cobra Jet crank to 451 cubic inches, Cobra Jet Heads, breathing through a factory aluminum 2x4 intake manifold. The power is passing through a 4 speed toploader which shifts perfectly with its Hurst shifter, and putting the power to the ground through a 9” rearend with a 3.50 posi gear. This car will get up and go and is fast with a lot of torque. This is a very beautiful car. The paint is overall very nice. This is not a concourse car, but a very high end driver car in my opinion. This was an original AC car and still has a lot of the AC components, although the AC is not currently hooked up. I have pictures of the car during its restoration, and tons of receipts for the parts and the engine build along with all the details and secs of the engine. So let’s talk about this engine. Front seats are from a 69 Mach 1. Shelby Rollbar and center console. 8k tach. Headliner is nice. Folddown rear seat. Very nice overall. Body and Paint: Original fastback, body code 02. Very solid body all over. Has the wrap around big block show towers from the factory. The frame rails front and rear are all solid, rocker panels solid, trunk floors solid. The passenger torque box and front floor pan were replaced and they look very good. The paint is very glossy and is not dry. It looks and show very nice. The paint has a couple minor touch ups here and there. This is not a concourse car but a very nice and show worthy high end driver in my opinion. The underside could use a little detailing but that’s not hard to do and doesn’t cost much. The lucas fog lights are real and were NOS before installed and they work. The Shelby fiberglass panels all fit nicely. I’m not sure if they are original or aftermarket. Wheels, Tires, Brakes, Suspension: Shelby 10 spoke wheels, tires in great shape. Car has front power disc brakes and rear drums. Has subframe connectors that could be removed. VINS: All VINS original and where they should be. Original dash plate, original door tag, and clearly stamped fender apron. International Buyers More than Welcome.
