Up for sale is a Very Rare 1983 Maico 490 rolling chassis. The roller is very complete. To my knowledge this is also the last true Maico being a 1983. The motor is long gone. NO MOTOR. NO MOTOR. This would be a great bike if you have a spare motor for it. The pipe is in very nice condition, no holes or major damage, the front and rear suspension compress nicely but need a rebuild. New side number plates included as well. The bike rolls good, wheels have nice gold color and appear to roll straight. Please ask questions if you need to. This is a really nice project to work on this winter. The great thing about this bike is most of the parts are there and it’s not a rust bucket. This bike has been stored inside for many years and currently is in my climate controlled storage. Tracking down parts for a 1983 Maico is hard to do as most people are hoarding their parts. I am not a Maico guy so I will let this one go. It does not have a front disk brake, it has a disk cover, but it does have the correct drum front brake. Again it does have a front drum brake. FYI 1983 is a unique year motor wise. Any motors prior to 1983 will NOT bolt in the frame. So do your research. I don’t want someone to buy it then change their mind because they found out the spare Mag motor they have won’t fit in the frame. If you need shipping quotes please try uShip.
