Vehicle Detail
You're bidding on a used, excellent condition Mazda 1994 RX-7 (the best years for RX-7s were 1993-95). It is a twin-turbo with a Wankel rotary engine. The car has a little over 65,000 miles, all driven by a single owner. It was never driven outside California (San Diego to Agora, basically; so no snow, etc). It was always kept in a garage, and used only on weekends (not a daily commuter). Recently re-done: new headlights were installed about 3 years ago, a new battery and hoses were installed last year; this year, OEM body panels and paint (it had a few dings and dents on some body panels; the car was never in an accident), new wheels and tires, new windshield (old one had a crack), new leather interior (the stock, yellow vinyl didn't look so good––with Dynamat placed when seats were out to reduce road noise), and new custom carpeting and matts were installed. As you can see from the photos, the car is exceptionally clean, both inside and out. The A/C works well, as do the pop-up lights, side mirrors, and sun roof (2 position). All upkeep was done at local Mazda dealership in Huntington Beach, CA. This same dealership checked out the car and found everything to be in excellent condition. Title is in hand. Aside from the original, sole owner adding a turbo timer (which runs engine for 90 sec after shut-off to cool down turbos; this is adjustable), no modifications were done to the engine. The original owner stopped driving the car last fall, and the car remained unused in the garage until it was restored. (The battery was kept trickled charged during the few months of disuse.) The original owner developed pneumonia over the holidays and passed and the end of January. I inherited the car and subsequently did the above restoration. The car has clean title and with the new license tags for California, a smog test was done. The car easily passed the stringent California smog requirements. UPDATE (Dec 7, 2018): due to frequent requests, I've had the car examined by an Orange County, CA specialist in rotary engines. The compression readings are 102-102-102. This means the engine is in perfect condition (any seal issues would result in 1 or 2 of the readings being lower than the others; normal stock engine values range from 90 to 110, so 102 is excellent). He did note some mild throttle issues and so replaced the engine solenoids, along with all engine, steering and brake fluids as well as installing new spark plugs. We also noted some issues with the shocks and sway bar mounts: so 4 new, adjustable Koni shocks and a sway bar mount were installed. After the engine tuning, he said that the clutch was slipping. So I've installed a new clutch, but instead of a stock clutch, I've gone with a Stage One clutch. He said this car drives like a new car. (Paperwork available to buyer.)
