I am offering for sale my 2000 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas. The car is rust free and accident free from the looks of it. The whole car was repainted fairly recently so it looks stunning. This car has 154000 miles but truly runs and drives so nice. Everything has been done by Jaguar. Even the belt and oil filter are original Jaguar parts. Pampered and cared for. Has a 24k plated front Jaguar ornament. I love how long the back doors on the Long Wheel Base versions like this one. I have been driving it for the past few months (500 miles) and it is a pleasure. The 4.0 V8 motor sounds excellent! Plenty of power and torque. No funny noises or leaks on this Jaguar. The transmission shifts great in all gears. It also shifts when it should. This car has anti slip control (traction control) and it works. The tires all have very nice tread. The factory wheels are very clean and have no curb rash at all. The brakes are smooth and stop it fast as they should. The exhaust is a dual exhaust system and is spotless. These cars just sail down the road. Heavy solid feeling you only get from Jaguars, Bentleys and the Rolls Royce. Non smoker vehicle so it smells nice inside. The seats and wood are in good shape. The center consold has been recovered. The cup holder door on the center arm rest will pop off when you try to open it. (poor plastic tabs). Wood picnic tables in the back are very classy. The wood and leather steering wheel is in very nice shape. The floor mats are nice and clean. Lots of nice features on these Jaguars. Everybody appreciates the style of these old school Jaguars. They have a powerful presence. The battery and starter are fairly new. The car has been a very dependable form of transportation for me and I have enjoyed it. Just got a 2005 Super 8 Jaguar so I am letting this one go at a steal. Common with any older vehicle are some items you would like to know about. Anything can happen with an older car. The Air Conditioning works but the A/C compressor needs to be changed soon. I can tell it needs a new compressor or just leave the a/c button on the climate control off and drive it like this. The shocks work well but the rubber busings on the top (under the hood) are known to deteriorate over time. The kit is $36 on Ebay and it is for the front and rear shocks (ez to install). The sunroof tilts but will bind when trying to open it up. Wipers sometimes turn off after a 1-5 extra swipes. All of the windows work. Locks work. Lights, horn, tilt wheel, radio, Navigation all work . Power antenna goes up and down. Full size spare on Jaguar wheel and nice clean trunk. You will really enjoy this car.
