Vehicle Detail

I assume you know what the R69S model is if you're looking at this ad. I don't throw the term "survivor" around loosely, but this is certainly the definition of a 53 year old motorcycle that has survived without being ruined or restored. This bike has been stored in a dry garage since 1992. I fired it up for the first time in 26 years yesterday. All it took was a quick carb cleaning, new fluids and some gasoline. Fired off on the second kick. See video of it running here: https://youtu.be/k2wZptmife4 1965 BMW R65S - YouTube Video will open in a new window Using the eBay App? Paste link into a browser window: [isdntekvideo] It could still use some maintenance like carb syncing, newer tires and tubes, valve adjustment, the crash bar seems to be loose and rattling, etc. It is missing the battery hold down strap, needs a tail light bulb (brake light works, but tail doesn't). The right hand valve cover has been welded up from being laid over, it would restore well though. Use the zoom function to examine the pictures. Ask any and all questions you may have. This is a 53 year old machine that will need typical maintenance and restoration consistent with a machine of that age. Paint is flaking on the tank. Comes with the Craven saddle bags, tool kit, wind screen (missing some fasteners, but is otherwise complete), everything shown except the license plate. Pictures and video are key parts of describing the condition. If you need more pics or info please ask.$500 deposit due within 24 hours of auction end. I like cash, but wire transfer works too. If using paypal, you're paying the fee. Full payment due before bike leaves my property. Bike should be paid for and picked up within three weeks of the auction end unless other arrangements have been made with me. Sold as-is, where-is. I have helped arrange shipping all over the world for bikes so I can slightly aid in that, but it is the buyers responsibility to arrange for and pay for shipping. On Oct-15-18 at 15:41:15 PDT, seller added the following information: A few have asked, so here are some answers. The fairing is a Ranger made by Wixom Brothers Co (Longbeach, Ca) and is missing the screws that attach the clear plastic. I've put about 20 miles on it since firing it up without any issues. The title is clean and is still in the previous owner's name with a bill of sale to me I will issue a bill of sale to the new owner. The bike does drip oil but nothing outrageous, I have a small puddle sitting under it about the size of a beer coaster after the last 7 days or so. The oil looks to be coming from the oil pan gasket (easy fix). The bike looks like it was serviced with quality (no obvious makeshift garbage parts) over the years including still having BERU spark plugs. It does have a little silicone where one of the push rod covers meets the case. It is missing the horn. Anymore questions? Please ask.
