Up for consideration is one 1970 Dodge Charger 500. This car was originally a 383 automatic but currently has a 440 with a Tremec 5 speed. An additional 1971 383HP engine and the original torqueflight transmission are available and go with the car. The floor pans, trunk floor and window frames are rock solid with no rust. The vehicle has had about 15K miles put on it since numerous improvements have been made. Some of these improvements include a freshly built 440 (i.e., speed pro piston w/Hastings moly rings, Clevite 77 bearings, double roller timing chain, Mellings high volume oil pump, Lunati Mopar 262/270 Hydraulic roller cam kit w/.507/.515 lift with an RPM range of 1400-5400 rpms, new starter, new distributor w/inblock shaft bushing, Edelbrock aluminum intake w/new Holley carburetor, rebuilt alternator, new brass freeze plugs, and the list goes on & on. The Tremec 5 speed is new out of the box with all the accessories. New driveshaft w/new u-joints, the 3:55 positaction differential has been "completely rebuilt" (new bearings, new gears, new sure grip unit, etc. etc. total rebuild...cost $990 plus shipping) by John Wolfe @ Mopar Madness out of Texas. New high performance all aluminum radiator capable of cooling 600+ horse power. Complete new exhaust system w/stainless steel exhaust tips, new shocks front/ Gabriel air shocks on rear, all new wheel and axle bearings, "new" 15" tires & wheels (tires have less than 500 miles on them), the new spare has never been on the ground, new carpet, new upholstery on front and back seats, new vinyl top, new glove box, complete new front end rebuild including steering sector, new gas tank including filler tube seal and in-tank sending unit, complete brake rebuild (w/disc on front), new rear brake lines, "all old undercoating" was removed and replaced with a generous amount of 3M undercoating, new window seals and whiskers, new bushings/seals for wiper linkage, new tachometer, new MSD ignition system w/Blaster II coil, new stereo system and more are some of the improvements which have been made. This vehicle runs and drives great. The paint is satisfactory, although good in color it unfortunately contains impurities left by a careless painter. The new owner can easily have the vehicle repainted to his or her's own satisfaction. This car currently has about 79K original miles on it. I have had this vehicle for just over 13 years and really hate to see it go. Simply down sizing for retirement. This car turns heads everywhere it goes. This vehicle was built to a nice, dependable daily driver. On the highway, the engine turns around 1800 rpm @ 70 mph and at 100 mph approximately 2800 rpm. This car loves the open road...
