If you are having difficulty you can access them directly through this link: https://imageshack.com/a/Yado/1 YouTube Walkaround Video: https://youtu.be/oKrAnVZKnSM I am helping a friend and fellow Porsche-freak sell this phenomenal GT3. Just as a matter of reference, I have been judging cars at all types of show levels including concours for over 25 years and have extensive experience in restoration of many marques. I personally own two Porsche 356’s and have owned six 911’s from different generations and have been a PCA Member for over 20 years. I am extremely picky and probably grade more on the lower side when evaluating vehicles. I would consider a 10 on my scale to be a concours quality vehicle, just so you have a reference. This example is 100% collector quality and is in concours condition from any perspective. You could park this car in a motoring museum tomorrow and it would be right at home. The owner of this car is a meticulous engineer type with a 40 year history of owning 911’s. He is a long-time PCA Member. He searched and searched for this car for two years before selecting this one because it had all the options he was looking for. He is only selling the car because he wants a newer 2016 991 GT3 RS to track. He feels this GT3 is more of a collector car, Sunday afternoon canyon car and because it is such a creampuff he just doesn’t want to tear it up on the track. I think he kinda wishes he could keep both, but he also has a 2011 Turbo S that’s a keeper. In the grand scheme of sports car history written fifty years from now, the 997 Series will surely be considered one of the greatest eras in Porsche automotive legend. In this era when it came to sticking the rubber to the planet Earth nobody delivered it better than Porsche and their team of engineers. To put it simply, the water cooled Mezger engines ruled the day. Those days are forever gone and while Porsche still pushes the envelope in every manner possible there is just something magical about the Porsche from this era that truly epitomizes the real spirit of sporting cars. These cars pushed the envelope in boxer style engine design. Who knew a boxer engine could produce 435 horsepower… are you kidding me. This is an extraordinary example of what might be considered the last and best of the Mezger engine coupled to a manual transmission. A rare example indeed and please don’t compare this car to a plain jane version GT3 with a sticker price of $112K. The litany of prized options pushed this rare example to an MSRP of over $140K. Another $1850 in must have exhaust upgrades have been added to the list. Finished in Speed Yellow with full black “alcantara” leather interior, this exciting 2010 Porsche GT3 was originally delivered to Dave Strong Porsche of Salt Lake City and stayed in that area until February of 2012 when it went to Reno, NV to the second owner. The current owner bought the car in Orem, Utah and took it to Texas in November of 2014 where he drove it roughly a thousand miles. In May of 2015 he moved the car to his California home where it has been to date. All three owners looked at this vehicle as a collector vehicle from day one. It has been lovingly cared for by those owners and driven less than 2000 miles per year. All service records are listed below and are documented with the original Service Maintenance Manual and receipts for other work performed. There is also in the photo section below this write-up a full CarFax ownership history from new to present. BODY & PAINT The body and paint on this vehicle is simply the finest you will find on a nine year old car, unless it had zero miles on it. The body is perfectly straight and has never been damaged in its history. Take a look at the shut lines and you will see just what I am referring to. The original factory orange peel matches from panel to panel and there are zero scratches, abrasions or dings. I would have to rate the paint and body at a 10 out of 10. It has spent everyday of its life in a garage with a cover and has never been used as a daily driver or sat out in the sun for any extended period of time. Note: Yellow on a car is next to impossible to photograph correctly, because the outside light on the finish completely changes the color from panel to panel. Sometimes it looks deep yellow, sometimes light yellow. I would say the first picture that is at the top of this writeup is the most accurate description of what this color looks like. This picture was taken close to dusk. The first two pictures below the writeup were taken at the same time, with the sun on the passenger side of the car and shade on the drivers side, so you can really see the difference that sunlight will make on the way the car looks. Also, the very last picture of the rear of the car is a very accurate as to color in direct sunlight. The reason I want to point this out is because this is the original paint all the way around this car. It matches to perfection in person. I will certify that this car has never had any paint applied anywhere except at the factory. Glass is all factory original and free of cracks or pits. INTERIOR The Interior is completely stock, original and flawless. The dash is crack free and indicative of a car that has literally spent it’s entire life covered in a garage. I would rate the interior at a 10 out of 10. The owner literally never rolls the windows down, which has left the interior with the original factory smell locked into the cabin. The Undercarriage is extremely clean and in fabulous untouched condition and showcases its easy rust-free life. MECHANICAL This Speed Yellow GT3 rolls with authority, if you are looking at this vehicle you already know what they are all about, so I will skip my description. This example runs, handles and brakes flawlessly in every category. The car has always been serviced by Porsche Dealers. The car has never been over-reved and has never been tracked. Today, this 997 GT3 is presented in true #1 condition, probably one of the nicest in the country that you will find in Speed Yellow. The car comes with the original books, tools and compressor. Less than 2000 miles have been covered since the Michelin Pilot Sport tires were mounted. The car is exceptionally well-sorted mechanically. It starts up immediately, idles wonderfully; drives straight down the road and brakes with authority. It has been recently serviced and needs nothing for its new owner to do. The looks, power and drivetrain combined to ensure that this GT3 was a great success. For many enthusiasts, the Type 997 GT3 with the Mezger engine and 6-speed manual was one of the best Porsches ever and have become extremely collectable. No wonder it's such a desirable, sought-after machine. If you are looking for a concour example of the GT3 to add to your collection, mechanical perfection and show worthy inside and out, then this may just be the car for you. I would not hesitate to jump in this GT3 and take a cross-country trip tomorrow. On the other hand, I would probably do like my friend when he moved it from Texas and ship it. No wait, maybe I would drive it. 911. For millions of people in the world, just a number. For some, however, it is the numerical code for a phenomenon that defies technical description.
