You are bidding on a 1981 VW Rabbit Pickup LX. This is relisted after a previous sale, because the winning bidder was a fraudulent bidder and EBay cancelled the sale.This truck was running when parked a couple of years ago. The true mileage is unknown because the odometer stopped working for a period of time but is a reasonable estimate. It does not start now and I do not know the reason. The rear drum brakes are seized from sitting and this vehicle will need to be towed as it is not road worthy in its current state. At the time it was parked, it was a daily driver and did not have any known mechanical issues. This truck is old and has never been restored. It will need some work to get it back on the road. My goal is to be as honest as possible in this listing. Vehicle condition...... it does have some rust in multiple places (bottom of some fenders and door edges, behind battery on inner fender, under rear window, and a few other surface spots. The fuel tank needs to be cleaned (I was running it off of a fuel cell that is mounted in the bed), there is a dent behind the passenger door, there is a dent on the drivers rocker panel. The AC will work for a short period of time if recharged, but must have a slow leak. Many parts were replaced 5 or 6 years ago including a heater core, water pump, vacuum pump, brake booster, master cylinder, the very hard to find rear brake hoses, shocks, exhaust. These newer parts may still be in good condition, but I cannot say for sure since it has not been on the road.I will throw in a collection of extra parts to the winnng bidder. I have a rear slider window, brand new black seat covers, and many other misc. parts.On Sep-28-18 at 16:04:25 PDT, seller added the following information: Update... the rear drum brakes are now free, so the vehicle will roll. It still does not start, but I am working on it.I added pictures of the engine bay and the bed.People asked me to talk pictures of the rust too.The inner fender wall in front of the drivers side shock tower has a weld repair that was done by the previous owner. It is not a good quality job but it has not worsened at all in the many years I have owned it. The bed has peeling bed liner. It has minor surface rust but seems to be strong.I added pictures of the pillar next to the windshield on the passenger side. It has filler in it. I took a picture of the patch panel that I will include in the sale for the buyer to fix it.The drivers door has the worst rust as can be seen in the pictures. The vehicle will come with a color matching driver door that is in much better shape as seen in the parts pictures.I also took many pictures of some of the spare parts that will come with the truck, but not all. Door cards, windshield gaskets, door cards, visors, bed rails (rare), one VW mud flaps, very rare duck bill, triple gage shifter console, headliner card and black headliner material, hoses, injector pump tools, hoses, chrome center hub caps and clips, full hub caps, AND very hard to find NOS remote control mirrors. Many other small items too numerous to list. On Sep-28-18 at 16:19:33 PDT, seller added the following information: This is the 5 speed manual.On Sep-28-18 at 17:53:29 PDT, seller added the following information: MAJOR UPDATE....It is running and running good. The problem was a loose ground strap and a bad battery. I put in a battery from one of my other vehicles which is brand new, and she fired right up with one turn of the key. If the winning bid goes over 1000, I will throw in the new battery. OR I will include it for $90 if the winning bidder wants it. It was $129 new and purchased this week.
