I originally purchased this car for my father for his 70th birthday in 2005. He recently gave to me. Model 4H-K5--Coral Red and Ivory Mist The car was restored by well known Studebaker restoration shop, MDS Engine Service, Bruceville Texas: $7000.00 in parts, $4000.00 in labor:232 V-8 engine balanced and blueprinted. Valves redone and hardened for unleaded fuel. Engine and engine compartment painted according to Studebaker specifications12-volt conversion. Distributor to electronic ignitionTransmission, brakes, steering, gas tank, suspension rebuilt. New exhaust.Wiring replaced.Additional in-line fuel pump near gas tank added to prevent vapor lock issuesCoker tires$ 5,000 Phantom Autoworks (Rene Harger) complete and correct Studebaker interior installed: leather seats, carpeting, door panels, headliner, wind lace Odometer reset to zero UPON completion of restoration. The car has been stored and maintained since then with only 410 miles added since 2005! Body is completely rust free. Still has most of its original undercoating including wheel wells etc. Car has no leaks whatsoever. No smoke from exhaust. The car starts easily and runs and drives better than when new.
