Vehicle Detail
215k miles on it. I’m going to tell you everything I know about the car so there won’t be any surprises. Two drivers. I’ve owned it since 68k. Originally a Florida car. Major work that’s been done: - New Water Pump - New timing belt - Rebuilt power steering pump - Replaced both rear struts with new. - Replaced both rear wheel bearings, and one in the front (can’t recall which one) with new. - Replaced Front universal joints on passenger side with new. - Replaced slave clutch cylinder with new. - Fantastic new tires - New brakes - New rear window. - New front bumper cover Minor Work that’s been done: - Replacement of all head/tail lights - Fuel pump relay replaced - Battery just replaced - Valve cover gasket replaced - Blower motor resistor replaced - Both window motors replaced - Wheel alignment recently - Various parts and pieces of suspension - Basic tune up every year (air filter, plugs, wires, points, etc) Known issues: - Check engine light is on. Computer says it’s an EGR valve, but the EGR was replaced with new, so the ECM is the issue. Car still drives great. - When it rains really heavy, the front passenger floor gets damp. This also can be repaired, but I mostly don’t worry about it and suction it out if it gets too bad. - I recently noticed a pinhole in the exhaust. - My old key is broken in the trunk lock. Not a bother for me so I left it. Trunk opens normally. - The cup holder retractable cover won’t stay shut. - The engine leaks oil from the distributor – about 1 quart per ~500 miles. Again, not a big issue for me; I just add oil. A simple o-ring would probably fix it. Oil and filter is still replaced every 3k. - Some of the dash lights on the heater control unit have gone out. - The power steering fluid seems to leak somewhere, but only to a point and then it levels out. I’ve refilled a couple of times, but it never loses enough to stop working. Short of it, the power steering works fine. Another item that isn’t a big deal to me. - There’s front bumper damage that has been there before I owned it. - Sometimes, when it’s extremely cold, the passenger side power door lock doesn’t seem to want to operate. Great things about this car: - I wouldn’t think twice to drive this car to Florida tomorrow. It’s very safe, still drives great and is a fantastic car. - The engine is in amazing shape and runs extremely well. - The car handles great. No shaking or pulling one way or the other. - ABS brake system works as it should, very safe. - All interior and exterior lighting works, except for the tiny LED for the cruise control button - Spare tire included and in very good condition - I’ve run compression tests on each cylinder multiple times and each one holds pressure. - Hot heat - Cold air - Rear defrost works - Airbags never deployed - Both mirror motors operate - New honda rubber floor mats - Tires rotated and balanced on schedule - Comes with nice stereo with remote - Sun roof operates perfectly - Cruise control works great - Hardly any rust! - No leaky seals - Very clean interior with very little damage, especially with over 200k miles. - Original clutch! A testament as to how delicate I have driven this car over the past 12 years!
