Vehicle Detail
2001 Buick Lesabre- Drivetrain is reliable. Always ran Mobil-1 oil and Mobil-1 filters, flushed transmission fluid every 60,000 miles (due in 24,500 miles)- "Big Four" failure items, water pump, fuel pump, starter, alternator, were new in 2017. Replaced before failure. - Navy Blue exterior and interior - Leather seats maintained in supple condition, both sides powered - Alloy wheels, Firestone tires with 5mm (6/32") tread remaining - A/C is strong and cold - AM/FM radio/CD/cassette works - Class 2 (1-1/4") Curt trailer hitch (for carrying a child's wheelchair, never any trailer pulling, no trailer light hookup) - 222,481 miles (37,481 on new instrument panel replaced in 2016, 185,000 previous miles) - New windshield wiper motor and controller 2016 - All exterior light bulbs changed 2017, small chance of getting pulled over unless you drive wild. - Lower intake manifold gaskets replaced (issue with 3.8L engines if left undone) - Warning lights illuminate prior to starting the engine, as pictured. This is important. Older vehicle issues that you can either fix or just let go until you wring out the last dollar's worth: - Typical rust for a 17 year old vehicle. - Airbag light came on this last year, stays on most of the time now. We just taped over with electrical tape for night driving, but removed the tape so you can see, as pictured in the after-start photo. - 4 small patches on body formed from aluminum sheet and painted, looks better than rust-throughs. - Traction system light will illuminate sometimes when hitting a big bump. Turn off key and restart will reset system until next big bump. Wiggling the electrical connections on each wheel will fix problem for several months, so do that wiggle job every tire rotation, probably a little corrosion in there. - Vibration at 40 to 45 mph, tires probably need balanced, but runs smooth otherwise, even at 75mph on the Interstate. - Power steering leaks a little fluid, but works fine. - Loose gas cap light message sometimes. This vehicle starts easy, runs great, engine is strong, transmission smooth, tires have plenty of tread, albeit with typical rust issues from salty midwest winters. We've taken good care of it, and had planned on driving it for several more years. We are selling because climbing out of a low-sitting sedan is getting too painful with a bad hip, so we bought a higher-sitting SUV. Title is clean, no debt, no liens, bill of sale is ready to sign. Bring your family and drive off into the sunset in a Buick, the spirit of American style. P.S. Notice the fuel gauge; including is a full tank of gas.
