1986 Dodge Shelby Charger 2.2 Turbo Az SW car NO reserve !! ... BID TO WIN !! NO BS !!! BIN for 900.00 obo There are virtually see no mods done to the car under the hood even still has stock oem radio and muffler ! These cars values are easily ON THE RISE ! Barn find, this 1986 Shelby Charger Turbo has been in Az pretty much its whole life. 0 signs of rot and barely any surface rust. Only shows a tic under 90k original miles too. Timing belt broke (non interference motor) and it was parked. Still wearing most of its original paint. Motor turns over fine with the key. Thats the good part ! Also throwing in a few boxes of extra parts for similar Dodge cars from this era. THE WORST PART of the car is AZ has pack rats outside the city and a few lived in this car for about a yr. Although the a pack rats didnt do alot of wiring damage, the cars interior smells to the holy heavens !! We cleaned out as much as possible by hand and with a power washer, but the smell is really bad. Id say gut the interior and start the restoration from there !! There prob are a few important savable things from the inside of course if it was removed and cleaned by hand. IN pics, its doenst look too bad, but the can be a little decieving esp since you cant smell it. BRIEF DESCRIPTION: This is a cool old Dodge has an aweome body ! and very rust and rot free rockers, doors, floors etc, everything you would expect from a dry, SW Arizona car this old. The car shows aprox 90k on the odometer, and prob original. The motor Im sure is fine and trans, but maybe the timing is jumped. Figured the new owner can decide what they want to do with it. If history has taught us anything, Muscle cars from any era become collectable. Ones with the Shelby name attached are near the top of the list. THIS IS ONE that went under the wire with really no HP mods ever done. Original under the hood all the way back to the stock muffler !! Dont miss out ! DRIVETRAIN: factory 2.2 Turbo car with a 5 spd manual trans. Again, its not currently running. Cranks with the key no problem etc, as mentioned above. Very original and unmolested under the hood. After timing belt broke yrs ago, it was parked in the yard in the desert outside of the city. Its probably a matching #s engine if they did such a thing on these models. Possibly just do a timing belt, waterpump, clean out the gas tank and it may run fine. INTERIOR: take a look at the pics, its looks okay, but it SMELLS very bad from the family of pack rats that lived in it for over a yr. Upholstery may be save-able if cleaned very well, but its a long shot. Carpet, padding and headliner goners ! AZ was pretty hard on the vinyl rubber and plastic some. Pretty original and mostly complete. Doors open and close fine, glass all looks to be good and windows rolls up and down fine. Some peeling of chrome of some plastic etc inside too. Factory AC car of course and looks to be complete. EXTERIOR: the body very straight for its age, but this is a 90% rust FREE survivor. Original sheetmetal the best I can tell from 1986. The bumpers are in really nice shape too and original. The front grill and surrounds look to be in pretty nice shape too. Rust or rot I should say is almost non existent on the body. Much nicer by comparison to most Mopars this old living on the Eastcoast. Front wrap around air dam is missing. Rear window louvers still there. Whats left of the original paint has some really cool "barn find" patina. Rare Color combo SUSPENSION: the suspension looks OEM which is actually good for this model, w higher rate springs all around and larger sway bars the Shelby models were known for having. Factory Disc brakes up front.... No wacky mods and surface rust at best. Makes coming apart a breeze. Correct OEM 15" correct alloy wheels w/ tires that hold air. Minimal rust under the car, making taking this car apart, almost a breeze !! Check out ALL the pics below ----->it may take a full minute for them all to load if you have a slow connection- AND looks for the extra scroll bar on the right side. Az gets maybe 12" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate. more info AFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics. There you go, probably The BEST represented Mopars on Ebay. Shows you all the good as well as any bad. We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars. People wait months for a car this solid to come up for sale and even if you have to pay shipping to your area, it still beats paying a body shop to hopefully fix a rusty car for weeks on end. Having as much as the original steel on a non restored car these speaks volumes. Survivors are getting harder to find ! Also, if you buy a car thats been "restored", who knows what surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating. People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are fast, for a quick buck and quality suffers.
