Vehicle Detail
Yee Haw!! Up for sale is an orange 1969 Dodge Charger known as the GENERAL LEE !I have owned this car since about 1997, and built it from the ground up. It was put on the road in 2003.Since then, the car has appeared all over the southeast, and on many television programs, and has been featured in many magazines, and calendars. The car horn form THIS ACTUAL CAR was used in the Warner Brothers 2005 Dukes Of Hazzard Movie, and it's sequal. It was also used for the MTV Jessica Simpson music video, "These Boots Are Made For Walkin".... The car has a newly rebuilt Holly Carburetor, and a 1985 Chrysler 318 motor with a roller cam, and a 904 transmission. The vehicle has front line lock disc brakes, momentary rear wheel brakes, and then brake pedal that operates all brakes. Used for stunt driving and slides. It is a VERY FAST car, easily hits 100MPH quickly. The engine was rebuilt less than 2000 miles ago. The front suspension was also rebuilt and it has new tires all the way around with good tread. The car is also signed by most of the original cast from the original TV show, and also signed by some former cast and crew (stuntmen that jumped the original cars) in the trunk. It has made many appearances with the original cast as well. It has everything! The flag on the top, the big "01" on the doors, the custom roll bars, and even the best part, the DIXIE HORN! Also in this auction, I am including a fuel injected computer controlled 318 with matching 904 transmission FREE with the car. Not in my wildest dreams, would I have ever considered selling this car, but,.... there has been a terrible family issue pop up that has caused me to have to re-evaluate my decision. My dad, who was a U.S. Marine for 42 years, retiring as a CWO-4, fell in his house and broke his back, and shortly after, suffered a stroke and brain bleed. Bills have been high. So, I have made the heartbreaking and difficult decision to sell my precious car. ALL KNOWN ISSUES WITH THE CAR:In the interest of honesty, I will list all known issues that I can think of with the car.The car has been kept garaged ever since it was built. However there are slight issues with chipped paint here and there, as this car has been displayed at many car shows and movie events, and even driven on a few NASCAR tracks! Also, the headliner and carpet really need to be replaced. The transmission leaks at the neutral switch plug area. The Transmission pump needs to be replaced. Also, there is a small leak of antifreeze on the right side of the motor at the freeze plug. Not a big issue, but it should be replaced sooner or later. Just a matter of popping the old one out, and hammering a new one in. It does not have windshield wipers. The car is also for sale locally, and I reserve the right to pull the auction if it is sold locally. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and I will answer them as honestly as I possibly can. I very much hope the winning bidder of the car will cherish it as much as I have. Here is a video tour of the car on my YouTube channel. https://youtu.be/JKHfGzJfCto
