Vehicle Detail
I bought this "one year only" bike from the original owner back in May of 2013. After sitting neglected for quite a few years, it was ready to be brought back to life. The carburetors were professionally overhauled by a nationally known carb rebuilder. While that was underway, I did the following: Powder coated front fork legs, then rebuilt with new seals and bushes Powder coated all calipers and master cylinders, then rebuilt with new seals and EBC brake pads Installed stainless steel braided brake lines Installed new JT Sprockets front and rear sprockets and DID O-ring chain Drained old fuel from tank and cleaned. Installed new fuel petcock Adjusted valves and installed new valve cover gaskets, powder coated the valve covers Installed new NGK spark plugs and new air filter Installed Big Crank AGM battery Installed top end oiler kit Replaced old coolant tube O-rings Flushed radiator and cooling system, replaced with new coolant Replaced radiator cap and thermostat Annual oil and filter changes Mounted and balanced new Battlax tires and wheel bearings in summer of 2017. Less than 1000 miles on them so far.Bypassed faulty fuel pump in 2017. Bike runs fine without it. Also powder coated various other parts such as handlebars, grab bars, rearsets, center and side stands, etc. The bike runs amazingly well - the V4 power is quite exhilarating. It shifts smoothly through all the gears and has a TON of power. This 1000cc motor is much faster than my DOHC 1100cc inline 4's. The exhaust note is very cool - it growls! The bike feels like it just wants to keep accelerating. It also handles very well for a motorcycle built in 1984. As you can see from the pictures, the bike is in nice shape. It isn't a show bike however - I would rate it at a 7.5 out of 10. The original exhaust was powder coated and the finish is starting to let go. There is also a small oil leak up top, but not enough to warrant a tear-down or repair. The starter switch sometimes sticks but can be pulled back. I will provide a good used switch and if time allows, I will install it before the sale is completed. This is a bike that was meant to be ridden, enjoyed, and properly maintained. That's what I have done since I've owned it and as a result, it's a bike that's ready to ride as soon as the new owner takes the keys. This is one that you will enjoy for years to come. It's presently registered, insured, inspected, and ridden regularly. The pictures shown were taken when I took the bike out for it's first ride this spring. Mileage shown on the odometer is slowly increasing since I still ride the bike regularly. Here is a YouTube "walk-around" video so you can see and hear the bike:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbx8XSj0kNc You are welcome to call me at 774-232-3287 if you have specific questions. I have done my very best to represent this bike as accurately as possible. I take great pride in restoring these old bikes and rarely even sell one. There is no reserve price. If you're seriously interested and are familiar with this model, you will agree that the starting (and potentially selling) price is very fair. The high bidder will be required to pay a $500 deposit via PayPal within 24 hours and the balance via certified check will be due within 7 days. I will be happy to work with the shipper of your choice, but you must make the arrangements and pay all associated fees. Thanks for your time!
