Vehicle Detail

The Soviet Union IZH factory "Izhevsky mekhanichesky zavod" = "Izhevsky mechanical factory"(ИЖ in Russian language) was founded in 1807 by Decree of Tsar Alexander I and is still in existence today, producing weapons (from knives, guns, bazookas to the well know Kalashnikov AK47 machinegun), but also tools, cars, motorcycles and industrial machines. To give an idea about the size of this manufacturer: during WW2 IZH produced 11 million guns, against 10 million guns produced by Nazi Germany in this same period. Going back to the 1920's; the centrally-controlled Soviet Union motorcycle construction authority had decided to produce a copy of the German DKW luxury 300 motorcycle model. This L300 model was manufactured in the Promet works in Leningrad under a DKW license agreement. It was because of this early Soviet interest in the reliability of the DKW two-stroke engines, that after the end of the second world war the Soviets grabbed the opportunity to disassemble the DKW factory in Zschopau, Saxony* (which part of Germany became in 1945, right after WW2, part of the Soviet Union) in order to re-assemble this facility and re-start the production of the pre-war DKW NZ-350 model at the IMZ factory on the Ural river. The 350 single cylinder model like on offer was produced until 1962 and by then replaced by the 350 Jupiter model, which had a twin-cylinder engine. IMZ motorcycles have been only produced for the Soviet home- and -allied-state market and because of this reason these machines are Ultra rare in the western world and hardly ever on the market. More information about all the IZH motorcycle-models can be found here (in Russian language, but this can be easily translated on most computers by using the rh mouse-button);http://bikerwiki.ru/%D0%98%D0%B6 Selling at no reserve this rare twin-port IMZ-350 starts instantly and runs and rides very well. It was sold when new in the former Soviet-alied state of Poland, from where it has been sold to an enthusiast of USSR vehicles in Belgium back in the year 1994. The odometer reads 41390 km (= approx. 25772 mile) only have no history with the bike to confirm whether this is correct (or not). Both the Russian made tires are still on and are holding air, the battery is new. In the pictures you'll find an image in where you can see the DKW engines compared with the IZH ones . Another nice thing about this bike is that parts for this model can be obtained from a couple of online IZH parts-specialists that I've found (against decent money). With the motorcycle is still some history, like the old Polish title, an official permit from the Polish authorities for exporting the motorcycle etc. and a Belgian registration-document (see images). This motorcycle comes with an official European Certificate of Origin (title), which document will be issued in the buyer's name and states the make, model, VIN, year of manufacture, displacement, weight etc, plus an official bill of sale from my company here in Belgium. Furthermore I’ll make sure that all the correct export-paperwork will be in place before the bike leaves from here, which documents will make the process of importing it into the US an easy ride. -On this listing I’m offering a special (fully sealed) crate, careful packing and physical shipping from here in Belgium to a US CFS as close as possible to you at my expense, meaning that I will pay for having the bike crated and all handling etc. plus the ocean-freight charge, where you are responsible for all charges at your end, like entry-, port-, handling- and eventual (US) broker-fees etc.If you want any additional information about this, please ask before you place a bid. Furthermore, when you want to receive some better photo's of the bike/shipping, or want to receive more information about this item, just let me know. Payment can be done either by wire, credit-card or PayPal. -Additional information to this listing; I only offer shipping by sea, where of course we can advise you on forehand about the process of importing the machine into your country and can help you to the contact-details of an ever so experienced US import-broker. When you are the high-bid buyer, I will ship this machine at my expense from here to one of the following Canadian destinations (container freight station-depot); -Calgary ALB-Charlottetown PEI-Edmonton ALB-Halifax, NS-Moncton NB-Montreal-Ottawa ONT-Quebec City QUE-Regina SAS-St. John's NF-Toronto Vancouver BC-Winnipeg MAN ..Or to one of over 60 US destinations (as close as possible to you), Or to another destination on this planet (please let me check whether I can ship to there before you place a bid). For Canadian buyers, check this link regarding importation; https://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/motorvehiclesafety/safevehicles-importation-1338.htm For US buyers, like can be read in the link, this antique bike is because of age exempt from US import-duty and EPA regulations; https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/278/~/importing-classic-or-antique-vehicles-%2F-cars-for-personal-use The crate will safely sail in a sealed container and the shipment is fully insured for eventual damage/loss.I always pack vehicles myself, only use certified crates plus new packing-materials and deliver the crated machines in person at the Antwerp warehouse of the shipping-company (see images) Furthermore I pay for having every shipment insured against damage or loss during the complete process of handling and sailing. Of course I will inform you about the complete process of shipping and provide you all the information you need from the beginning on and send you pictures of the process of packing and actual delivery at the Antwerp port as soon as these processes are completed.
