Vehicle Detail
* 1970 Ford Mustang coupe. NO RESERVE. Highest bidder wins. * This is a vehicle I brought up from Virginia about two years ago. Had been sitting for about 10 years. Put it on the back burner and never really got to it except for having front floor pans done and rebuilding the carb. *302 automatic. Power steering, drum brakes, air conditioning. 159,000 miles. * Fires right up, runs, drives and brakes, but needs a tune up badly. Has a hard time idling correctly. Running off gas can to fuel pump to bypass any bad gas that may have been in tank. * Some dings and pings, surface rust, but pretty solid and straight. Looks like it was repainted maybe 15-20 years ago. All body panels and trim are in pretty good shape for a vehicle this age. However, the rear driver's side tail light section looks like it was replaced and repainted at some point. (See pic). * Interior is complete and in great shape other than driver's seat which is worn out. Never really checked the lights and gauges, but I know the headlights and tail lights work, but original radio doesn't. Dash was red(painted black). Don't know why there was a red dash in it or why it was painted black. All glass good, except for windshield which is cracked and will need to be replaced. * Spotted some small areas of rust on middle frame rails when replacing floor pans, but my mechanic repaired most of it. There is one area that will need to be repaired which is a large rust hole on the inner cowl panel on the driver's side that allows rain to get inside the car and settle on the floor pan. The front carpet was taken out when the floorboards were replaced, so the water is just collecting on the metal and not absorbing through the carpet. * Tires hold air, but will need to be replaced. * Overall, a nice, little classic car. A good father/son project or possible candidate for restoration. * For out of state bidders, vehicle is located in Upton, MA. 4 miles to I-495. 7 miles to I-90. Will get up on a car hauler/trailer no problem, but can't be driven out. * I've described this vehicle as accurately as possible, but please feel free to call me with any questions as I may have left something out. * Comes with a clear Virginia title. On May-21-18 at 18:53:03 PDT, seller added the following information: Just a few items as questions are coming in. * Doors open and close perfect* Both door locks and trunk lock fine* Gauges work, headlights. tail lights, brake lights, wipers, horn work.Directionals not working. Marker light not working. Radio does click on, but apparently not hooked up to speakers.* The rust I showed in one of the pics is surface rust only.* Passenger side fender emblem in glove box* Original jack and misc. trim pieces in trunk as well as spare.* Shifts into gear-no play* Original floor mats in trunk* Has AC, but didn't check to see if it is functional.* Windows open/close fineOn May-24-18 at 15:00:41 PDT, seller added the following information: One thing I wanted to mention about the interior is the front carpet section was taken out when the floor pans were done and not replaced. So there is no front carpet section. The back is still in it and is in good shape. Also, one minor note. The plastic lens on the overhead interior light is missing.
