(If you are really interested and have time for a more detailed presentation) Up for Sale is my Garage kept, Beautiful 5.2L Four Barrel 1971 Barracuda! PLEASE, if you are a diehard or purist Mopar guy, that is all about big blocks, horse power and burnouts, PLEASE stop here and go look for something else! This is a Turn-Key Driver, a very nice Cruiser! An automatic car with power-steering, power-brakes and A/C for pure drive enjoyment! Whenever I feel like burning tires and going faster, I jump on my 6-speed, Challenger-HemiCuda Tribute that is pictured in this add for illustrative purpose only (Not for Sale at the moment.) When I bought this car in April 2016 my goal was to turn it into a fuel-injected HemiCuda Restomod. It was the perfect car to start the project! The previous owner did the hard job adding the Cuda’s hood, fenders, rear valance for dual exhaust, etc to the Grand Coupe. The only things that I added were the front spoilers, chrome rocker panel and fender trim, rear window louver and the controversial ducktail spoiler (It is controversial because, as most of us know, the Ducktail rear spoiler was available only on the 1970 Cuda AAR. The 1971 Cuda got the wing rear spoiler, which is the ONLY THING that I PERSONALY dislike about the 71 Cuda) So Mr. Purist, if you didn’t stop when I asked to, remember this is MY CAR, so it gets MY TASTE and I’m sure the future owner will like it too, if not, is just remove it or replace it with the wing spoiler). PS. Before we keep going, I just wanted to clarify that If you are under the impression that I’m a jerk with a bad attitude because the way I’m talking to Mr. Purist, I would like to tell you that, in reality, I’m probably one of the nicest, cool and polite person you will ever meet! I just can’t tolerate people that goes to car meetings or to the internet to criticize and focus on bad things on cars instead of appreciating what those cars have to offer. But Let’s go back to what really matters: My plans of turning it into a Restomod started to change very soon after I got the car and started to dig more into and realized how much paperwork and originality it still has. From its original matching number engine to its interior, A/C system, Radio, Etc... So, I decided to professionally fix what was need and keep it as a classic to take to cars meetings and for weekends rides, that’s why to fulfill my HemiCuda thirst, I got the Challenger-HemiCuda tribute that I already mentioned. I took the car to the best Mopar shop in Charleston, Bouchillon Performance Engineering (www.bouchillonperformance.com) and with the help of that amazing and knowledgeable staff, the car became what I was looking for to keep it as a classic. The most important things done to the car were a Full Front-end rebuilt, Four-barrel conversion, AC/Heat system conversion and rebuilt, Cooling system, Exhaust and much more as listed on the invoices that I’m posting in this add. The entire interior was pulled out, the car got a sound deadening membrane installed and brand-new carpet. Headline, Sun-visors, Seat-belts and Seats were not touched and still original. I also got new custom floor mats. I sent the rare and original Motorola thumbwheel AM/FM radio to Ward's Classic Car Radio Repair (http://www.wardsclassiccarradiorepair.com) and it was fully restored and now it works just like it did in 1971. Engine has a new Dress-up kit with Mopar logo, but I still have original Valve covers and air cleaner that goes with the car. If you are interest, please bid with confidence because I set a low start bid for what this car is and It will probably be the only affordable Running 1971 Barracuda out there. Again… This car isn’t show quality, but on every car show that I take it, still turning heads and getting it well deserved attention because in the end of the day it is THE LEGENDARY 1971 BARRACUDA, one of the most desirable American Muscle Car, on its most desirable year! Like I said on the Quick Ad, I’m not interest in any kind of trade. I’m actually looking to downsize my garage and use the money on my wife’s education. So, go ahead and bid confidently on this opportunity to own this beautiful classic! HAPPY BIDDING! IMPORTANT NOTES: * Any potential buyer is more than welcomed to check, inspect and start the car. But after a bad experience that I had selling another car, NO test drive will be done without a deposit and proof of funds for purchase of the car. * I’m willing to personally deliver the car on a weekend, if the buyer is located on a 150 miles radius from Charleston, SC. *If new owner is going to register the car in South Carolina, I can release the tag “71 CUDA” to be registered by you. ALSO IMPORTANT (If you are reeeally interested and have time for more detailed information on the car) PREVEOUS OWNER AD THAT I BOUGT THE CAR FROM IN 2016: “1971 Barracuda for sale. Driven several times a week. Runs great with it's original vin matching 318, Auto trans was just fully rebuilt about 50 miles ago. All new brakes. New shocks, tune up, electronic ignition, complete exhaust with cable operated cut outs, 340 manifolds. Many factory options include, A/C, power steering, power disc brakes, light package, fm with 3 speakers, style trim, slap stick, rare two tone interior, ect. I have original paper work going back to 1971, two build sheets, door sticker, fender tag and all vins. Only metal replaced was passenger 1/4 and rear valance for the Cuda exhaust. Floors and frame have no rot, some around driver apron. Never restored, I am the first titled owner since the 70's. Driver quality not show, but also not six figures. It's not a Chevelle or Camaro that you see at every show, it is one the most desirable year / make muscle car. Price reflects the condition, (Bumpers rechrome, paint is a 7 out of 10, ect.) This car has been off the road since the early 80's (copy of last title dated 79') Paperwork going back to the original dealership in Daytona beach Fl. I have gone through it and have been driving it now for about a year and I am just looking for a new classic car as I always switch up every couple of years. Engine: vin matching 318 still under the hood. No smoke, no knocks and runs cool. The original engine has new carb, tune up, electronic ignition, belts, hoses, seals, fuel pump and complete exhaust with cable controlled cut outs. Trans is completely overhauled 904 beefed up to handle a 340. Driveshaft cut, balanced w/ new u joints. 8 3/4 (489 case) open rear w/ highway gears. Body: Originally a rare one year only color of Tunisian tan. Now rally red. Solid floors and frame rails, the worst rust is the driver side apron (pictured). The passenger 1/4 was replaced many years ago. Paint is at least 7 years old. It is driver quality, very presentable but some imperfections. I put on the Cuda dual exhuast panel and kept it black. Trim is very nice, bumpers are original and should be redone. Body overall I would give it a 7 out of 10. Suspension: original 14" wheels going with the car have new tires, great trim rings and the correct dark argent caps, all new shocks, brakes are all new including booster and master. Handles well considering its originality, I have had it well up over a hundred mph. Interior: original two tone tan with no rips, seats are nice. Dash has a cap on it. No missing pieces. Working: All gauges, warning lights, all exterior lights, locks, all windows, 3 speed wipers and washer, horn, glove box light, key buzzer, ect.” Fender tag / build sheet options: A01 light package B41 power disc brakes C16 console C55 bucket seats C62 LH 6 way seat C93 carpet D31 904 torque flight E44 318 F11 70 amp G11 tinted glass all G33 remote LH mirror G41 day night mirror H51 air conditioning J25 3 speed wipers L25 trunk light L31 fender mount turn signals L65 ign. time delay L74 title / switch time delay L76 warning gauges M21 drip moldings M31 belt and hood mouldings M26 wheel lip mouldings M85 bumper guard package R35 am fm multiplex radio S13 rally suspension with sway bar S77 power steering W21 rally wheels
