Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1962 Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk. It is being offered with NO RESERVE! This car was customized in the early 1990s with suspension from a 1976 Dodge Aspen and a Chrysler 318 V8/Torqueflite drivetrain, as well as Chrysler rear axle. The Hawk was painted and trimmed in a monochrome "Euro Sport" motif. Interior was sourced from a 1979 Chrysler LeBaron. The project was written up on the October 1994 issue of the Studebaker Drivers Club magazine, Turning Wheels, and was dubbed the "MoHawk." Exterior: Paint and fillers have deteriorated due to outside storage. Front fenders are fiberglass. Car was originally painted in Centari II in medium gray metallic. Doors have some sag. Interior: Seats show some sun fading, and interior trim shows age. Headliner is in good condition. Rear floor foot wells have been eliminated. Mechanical: Car runs, drives, and stops, but is reluctant to start. Tilt steering column has some lateral looseness. Gas gauge and tachometer do not work. Has new battery. Structural: Trunk floor has been fiberglassed (see pictures), as have some passenger compartment areas. Hog troughs are present (see pictures). Other: Please contact seller with any questions or for additional pictures. Vehicle may be viewed by appointment by calling Andy (574) 532-8352 or Aaron (260) 573-6881.
