Vehicle Detail
I am relisting the car because the winning bidder did not follow through with the purchase. History of the car: 1969 Pontiac Firebird 400 ConvertibleIncluded in the photos is the PHS MUSCLE CAR packet information We have owned the car since April 2006 and have always kept it in a garageThe engine is potentially very valuable, but I have not been able to determine it with my Google searching skills. Once at “Cruisin’ The Coast”, a gentleman asked if he could use his books to look up numbers and information on the car. He determined the engine was manufactured in 1969, but was not numbers matching to the car. He also noted that the engine was manufactured in 1969 and is highly sought after for people restoring GTO’s. I am not sure which set of numbers led him to this conclusion, so I am NOT selling it as such, I just wanted to share the history. The previous owner stated the engine has 500HP at the crankshaft but did not supply papers to confirm Items of the car: The car is cooled with a large Aluminum radiator and two large electric thermostatically controlled fansThe carburetor is a 670 Street AvengerThe intake is an Edelbrock Pontiac TorkerThe fuel pump is the Blue HolleyThe distributor is MalloryThe coil is a Jacobs Mileage Master Energy Pak Ignition and Coil KitRear air shocksThe convertible top is manual but works very well and is in great condition. I had the top replaced professionally about 10 years agoThe car has been kept under a car cover as long as we have owned itThe under carriage photos are the ones I received when I purchased the car. Nothing mechanically in those photos have changedThe mileage we listed is an estimateThe engine was rebuilt right before we purchased it.We drove it on weekends about 5 months out of the year for the first couple of years, then not so much. 50,000 miles is probably shooting really high, but feels very honest to say. Paint job is not new, but as you can see, is still an eye catcher One photo shows the reflective quality of the paint No door dingsOne photo taken under the rear window near the trunk shows one potential rust spot. Note, it is not soft and the metal underneath is smooth and solid, so I am not sure why it looks like this but it does existOne scratch on the trunk and one on the rear quarter panel. Neither were deep enough to penetrate past the clear coat. They appear white. The oil pan gasket needs replacing, it leaksOne hole in the driver’s seat cushion about an inch long. It could and should be sewed closed with a curved needle. The radio is not of high qualityThe passenger’s side turn signal under the bumper in the front sometimes doesn't flash.A small white plastic tube under the horn cover on the steering wheel holding the contact needs replacing. The air conditioning doesn't work, but vent/ vacuum parts have been kept and are in a bag. This does not include a compressor. One of the photos show the parts. The back seat cushion directly behind the passenger seat has a small spot that looks like rust on the vinyl. I was not able to remove it, so it will most likely need dyeing. That's it.... This is a very good looking car that sounds extremely tough and is very fast. If you are looking for a hot looking muscle car that turns all heads as you enter a parking lot, this is it.
