Vehicle Detail
1970 Corvette Stingray Coupe project, LS5 454/390hp, M-40 automatic transmission, standard 3:08 posi., all numbers matching. Factory CGW engine code, beautiful & fresh code 976 Mulsanne blue paint with code 400 black vinyl interior. T-tops, removable rear window, power steering, AM-FM stereo, factory alarm and factory air conditioning. The car was 80% restored back in 2008 or 09 to include paint, engine, transmission, and drive train rebuild. There is absolutely no heavy rust what so ever in the frame or bird cage, only light surface rust on the frame and exhaust from it sitting. It looks just as nice underneath as on top. Previous owner paid $25K for the car in 2006, I have a copy of the old title, drove it around for a couple years and took it to a Corvette shop in Ohio to have the A/C repaired and interior freshened up. They took the car apart and decided to replace the wiring harness and vacuum system as well. After 3 years of the car being there and little to no work being done to it he became upset and took back his car and all the parts. I purchased it from him 4 years ago in the condition it is in now with the intensions of finishing the restoration and reselling it. Needless to say, we have been very busy in our business the last few years and I have not had the time to start on it and would like to have my shop space back. In the past month I got the engine running with a make shift harness, toggle switch ignition and a start button. It does run well and will drive itself on a trailer. It holds 70psi of oil pressure at a cold idle and sounds very healthy. Transmission shifts solid and has a forward manual valve body, no vacuum modulator, and is leaking fluid from the seal where the dipstick goes into the housing. Only oil leak and I’ll try to repair that by the weekend. The paint quality I would say is 8.5-9 out of 10. There is a spot on the left fender that was laid on a little thick and a 1/2” scratch/gouge in the right quarter panel that will need some touch up paint. VERY nice looking car and color combo in the sunlight. Only non-original items that I can see would be the new Holley carb., new aftermarket electronic dist. and wires, chrome 1 wire alt., chrome master cylinder, Flowmaster exhaust, and square tubular upper control arms. I do not have the originals. I have 95% of what is needed to complete this the car. There are MANY new parts to go with it to include dash pad, carpet set, gaskets and seals, A/C pump, evaporator, lines, wiring and vacuum harnesses, etc...etc...etc... Reserve is set at a reasonable price and is thousands less than what I have in this project now. Not a fire sale and don't need money, just would like to have shop space back and out of respect for the car, would like for someone to start on it sooner than I can. Please ask any questions you might have so there are no surprises, my feedback is very important to me. The date on pictures is accurate. Buyer is responsible for all and any shipping expenses, will definitely help load but keep in mind you will need truck space, all parts will not fit inside the car. $500.00 non refundable Pay-Pal deposit within 24hrs. of auctions end. Car will not leave until all funds have cleared my bank.
