Vehicle Detail

I am selling my 2010 Dodge Charger Police Package. This car has a clean GA title. The car fax indicates this car has been involved in three accidents during its years of service. If you are interested I have photos of the car with the front bumper and impact absorber removed. The front crash bar looks to be the original. It is a bolt on part with factory welds that can’t be duplicated. The rear of the car looks good. The area around the spare tire looks like it has never had any body work performed. The entire undercarriage looks straight and untouched. The accidents that have been reported must have been limited to bolt on parts and paint finish repair. This vehicle was a member of a relatively large fleet, to include spare cars. The engine was fogged, and the oil was changed every 5,000 Miles with full synthetic oil. The transmission and rear differential was also serviced when required. I have the original factory window sticker which lists vehicle options. This car has one new remote and one other remote in very good condition. Both remotes have brand new batteries and a small key that slides in to him. It also has one large key. Mileage is 115,762. Reconditioning these Police Chargers is a hobby of mine and I spent more that 130 man hours on this particular car. This was a very well maintained small town take home police cruiser. I bought this car in the Summer of 2017 as a project. I specifically chose this car because the officer that drove it informed me that it was in really good machanical shape and that it drove really well. The City contract in house mechanics also told me that it was a really good car. The car was removed from service early due to the fact that the front bumper was damaged in an accident with a deer. The police push bumper was unable to protect the left front portion of the bumper so it was cracked. New vehicles had just arrived at the shop and this car was swapped out instead of another car with higher mileage. I bought this car because it had absolutely no indication of leaks of any kind. The underside was clean. I brought this car home and removed the carpets and seats for the exception of the headliner. I replaced the drivers side A pillar cover because the original part had a hole from the spot light. The drivers side front carpet and seat cushion was replaced with better parts I sourced from a salvage car in the junk yard. I hot water pressure washed the seats and carpet. I hand scrubbed the headliner. You can see in the photos that there are marks and small holes towards the back were equipment was mounted. I also included a photo of the rectangular shaped holes in which I epoxied in a piece of foam backed vinyl which matches pretty well. This was were a mounting bracket passed through on either side for the prisoner partition. The back seat and carpets are in good condition, the removable floor mats are worn and faded in both the front and rear. The front seats are in good shape for the exception of what appears to be a small burn in the drivers seat cushion. This burn is barely noticeable. The drivers carpet is very clean however it does have some small frays and some small marks, however they are difficult to see. I custom modified a civilian center console with vinyl from a Dodge dashboard it is backed by expandable foam. This is the best way to modify these cars, as the shift selector is located on the column, and not on the tunnel. I neatly capped some of the factory run police wires in case the next owner would like to add some stuff these wires are unnoticeable and zip tied together under the center console. I connected the twelve volt power connector - cigarette lighter which is part of and located inside the arm rest. I also installed the blue fog light switch on the side of the console this lights up when the lights are on. I connected the fog lights to existing police wiring previously used by flashing lights. All three of these features are connected to ignition power. These items will turn off when the car is no longer running but will turn on when key is turned halfway. I installed a magnetic cover where the ash tray and lighter would normally be there is a fuse located inside for the fog lights I could not install an ashtray because the police interface module is located there, and this component cannot be removed. This vehicle is equipped with a seperate hidden fuse and relay panel on the right side floor which would be just above you’re right foot if you were sitting in the car. I spent a very long time working on this car. I completed the full 100,000 mile service. This includes a brand new Gates timing belt, timing belt tensioner and water pump kit. I also inspected the 3 front engine seals for leaks and there were none. I painted the timing belt cover and balancer pulley before reinstalling. I installed a new drop in style K+N washable air filter. I put the almost new Fram filter in the trunk in case you don’t like these washable filters. I installed a new 850 cold cranking amp Car Quest Battery. I also replaced the cerpentine belt which was also Gates. I replaced the bank one short runner intake manifold flow control valve actuator with a low mileage used one. I also performed the following schedule maintenance I replaced the thermostat housing and thermostat with Mopar original parts. I replaced all of the heater hoses with brand new heavy duty double walled high temperature silicone heater hoses. I also installed new tee fittings and brand new 5/8 hose clamps. I installed new rubber upper and lower radiator hoses. I installed a new pre formed rubber engine oil cooler hose. I flushed the cooling system twice with distilled water and added G05 Hoat organic coolant. I tested the coolant and it will protect the engine up to negative -60 degrees/270 degrees F and it tested in the top of the chart for acid corrosion protection. The radiator does not look original it looks to be in very good condition. The electric cooling fans are not original to the car as they are replaced every 50,000 Miles for preventative maintenance. I replaced the entire heat and air control panel with a nicer one from the same year car. The heat and air work perfectly. Nice cold air conditioning. I replaced the upper intake manifold seals after compression testing the engine I installed new Champion platinum spark plugs with a 0.50 gap setting. I also cleaned the intake manifold and fuel injector nozzles before re-assembly. The PCV valve looked brand new already. I flushed the power steering system by draining at the rack and re-filling with ATF+4. I changed the transmission fluid and filter using full synthetic, to include painting the Pan. I changed the rear differential oil with brand new full synthetic. I installed new front and rear semi-metallic break pads and flushed the brake system with new fluid. The rotors are almost brand new front and rear. I installed a new Mopar original evaporative emissions leak detection pump. The fuel pumps which are located under the back seat are not the originals to the car they are both Airtex Brand. I just thoroughly drained the fuel tank this week and topped the tank off with Ethanol free marine fuel with the recommended amount of Stabil fuel stabilizer, plus one can of Sea Foam. I filled the car up to test for fuel leaks and there are none. I changed the engine oil and filter with full synthetic 5W30. I inspected and replaced all of the worn or crumbled plastic wire protection under the car and in the engine compartment when I inspected all of the engine wiring. I installed brand new windshield wiper blades after removing and repainting the vent cowel I also installed a new cabin filter and vacuumed out any debris. The wind shield is in very good condition, and easy to see through. All of the windows are in good condition. The tires on this car are in good condition. They are worn evenly and have just been cross rotated. They have 7/32nds tread depth. On a scale of where a new tire is . 7/32nds The left front tire appears to have been properly plugged right in the middle of the tread, in the middle of the tire. In my experience of driving on these Good Year Eagle RSA performance tires these should be good for at least another two years of driving. The tire pressure monitoring system works fine, I have tested it. Prior to cleaning the undercarriage of the car I removed the lower side skirts and touched up any light surface rust however this car is very clean and rust free. The muffler has a small dent as you can see in one of the photos. It is not restrictive and does not affect the performance of the car. The plastic shielding around the rear jacking points is cracked. The right side jacking point is a little loose but will not tighten up. I normally do not even like these on my car as they make it more difficult to use jack stands. The steel in that area is thick enough. The plastic covers located under the engine and radiator are worn but no fasteners are missing. The drivers front wheel well hangs a little lower in one spot than the shield on the passengers side. It is barely noticeable. I decided to paint the entire car instead of just the front bumper which I replaced with a new one because the car had lots of scratches and decal impressions. I also really wanted to paint a car as I had never done it before. In preparation for painting the car I removed the three tail lights and mirrors. I smoothed out the antenna holes and spot light hole. I got the spot light hole perfect you could never tell it had one. The antenna holes on the roof are totally smooth but you can still kind of tell in the right light however it is difficult. I spent a long time smoothing the fiberglass and filler. I followed professional recommendations prior to filling these holes. I chemically cleaned and DA sanded the entire car with 600 grit sandpaper for proper paint adhesion. I primered only the areas that needed it i.e bumper, roof and some deep scratches. I prepared and painted the front bumper while it was off the car. I painted the car with 3 coats of Nason Silver Metalic paint, tacking between coats. I finished the car with three coats of Euro brand clear coat. There was no overspray. I waited three weeks before color sanded the car twice, 1500 grit, followed by 2000 grit. Buffed the car with cutting compound and a wool pad, followed by scratch remover and a foam pad. The finish is very smooth and level. The paint job is not perfect it has orange peel some fish eyes that I could not all the way sand out, along with some blemishes. I think it even has some areas where more of the metalic came out than others. The car does actually look really good. I did a really good job masking it off which took 12 hours, I even used adhesive foam rope in the doors trunk and good area to prevent lines. I installed brand new headlights, fog lights and bulbs. I also applied a light coat of clear silicone to the back of the lenses for added leak protection. This silicone is un noticeable. I installed a nicer chrome grill. The original grill matched the car, and had a black insert. I polished this car and it looks really good I just don’t want to oversell my paint job. Other people have complimented the car i.e the guys at the Dodge dealer and neighbors. The paint and materials alone cost over $800. I have also included a picture of a small section in which I did not remove the tape fast enough. I wet sanded it smooth, touched it up and sanded it again prior to polishing. I did not re install the emblems because this car would look great with a decal kit, or some stripes. I also have photos of this car befor and during the painting process if you are interested. I think I should also mention this car is equipped with the stealth interior lighting package. This means the interior lights do not illuminate when the doors are opened. They must be turned on when you get in. It does have the duel mode ticket light in white and red. Both map lights work. The trunk light does illuminate when opened. Everything on this car works. This car has great power, and handles very well. The engine runs smoothe and does not smoke. The transmission is excellent and shifts nice and smoothe. This vehicle is equipped with the same heavy duty Nag One transmission as the Hemi version. The steering and suspension is nice and tight. The bushings, boots, and ball joints are all in good condition and do not need to be replaced. The police suspension gives the car a very sporty feel. The programming is also different from its civilian counterpart. This car is equipped with a front and rear sway bar. The front sway bar is 30mm thick. The brake rotors are almost 14 inches in diameter and are duel piston. If you refer to the optional equipment list on the window sticker you can see the police options list. This car has lots of nice mechanical and electronic upgrades. This V6 version gets 17 mpg city and 25mpg Highway. This V6 version of the police Charger outperformed the Ford Crown Victoria. I just took this car to my local Dodge dealership and had the recalls performed. This car is 100% road ready it needs nothing mechanically. More pictures available if needed.
