1998 JEEP CHEROKEE SPORT – 2 door, 4x4, 5-speed manual, engine professionally rebuilt This is a rare and ideal XJ configuration. Professionally rebuilt engine with only 24K miles. Clean title. In great condition! Nice as is, or a perfect starting point for a more aggressive off-road build. Uncommon Chili Pepper Red paint color. After years of enjoyment and much spent on upgrades and tweaks, I’ve decided to part with my beloved 2-door XJ. Please see all the details and disclosures below: Local pickup ONLY please. Engine / Drivetrain- Fully rebuilt 4.0L straight 6 with 24,000 miles on it (with rebuild papers) - Full synthetic oil used exclusively since engine rebuild - Clutch was rebuilt with engine (24,000 miles on it) - Serpentine belt replaced (~5K miles ago) - Optima YellowTop deep cycle battery (3 years old) - All fuel injectors upgraded with 4-hole Bosch injectors - Power steering pump replaced (2.5 years old) - Downstream O2 sensor just replaced - Oil and filter just changed (3/2018) Suspension / Tires- 2-inch front spacer and rear add-a-leaf suspension lift- All shocks, struts and steering damper replaced (3 years old)- 30” x 9.5 R15 BFG All Terrain KO tires on black powder-coated OE Jeep steel wheels Interior- Front bucket seats replaced w/ black leather Grand Cherokee seats (flip-forward functionality)- Front and rear rubber floor mats, rubber cargo area mat- New headliner- Factory tint package and rear passenger tilt-out vent windows- Factory power windows and locks- Keyless entry with 2 keys and 2 remotes- Non smoking, no pets - A/C & heat fully functional- All dash gauges and lights functional- Headlights replaced with GE Nighthawk Sport- All cabin lights replaced with LEDs - Pioneer MVH-X390BT Bluetooth and USB media receiver- All 4 speakers upgraded with Kicker CS series (big improvement over OEM) Exterior- Curt 2-inch class 3 rear tow hitch installed- Bumper-mounted trailer outlets for 7-way and 4 connectors- Trailer brake controller installed- Factory rack rails with Yakima towers and crossbars (have keys)- Yakima ski racks included (have keys)- Front bumper replaced with new powder-coated steel bumper- All 4 fender flares replaced DisclosuresIt's a 20 year old Jeep, it's not perfect. There’s some cosmetic body rust from spending time out east. The frame and undercarriage do not have rust issues. Most noticeable rust is on the driver side rear quarter panel, just forward of the rear fender flare (see pictures). The bottom seam of the passenger door has some rust too (see pictures). The paint is showing its age, the front fenders, hood and fascia have some missing clear coat. The tailgate was repainted recently. There's a small dent on the rear quarter panel just behind the fender on the passenger side (see picture). Also in true XJ fashion, there are some minor fluid seeps (no drips) at the rear main seal, rear diff cover, and right axle seal. None are considered urgent by my regular mechanic at the most recent checkup (3/2018). More pictures available by request. Thanks for reading!
