The car has been pampered most of its life averaging only 7500 miles per year. My friend is just a little on the A/R side of taking care of his cars and is very picky about what he buys. He bought the car from his long-time Mercedes Benz mechanic locally who had the car for a couple of years and maintained it rigorously. I have been around Classic Automobiles for over 40 years and have restored and personally collected many marques. I have judged at many Concour venues in Southern CA over the last 15 years and am particularly adept in Survivor/Preservation Class automobiles and the forensics of such. This G-Wagon is in a solid #2+ Condition retaining all of its original paint from the factory, except the front bumper that was matched perfectly. This AMG has all the goodies including NAV, Heated Seats all around, Heated Steering Wheel, Premium Sound, the Designo Leather Interior with Burl Wood Accents and the Tow Package. To say these cars are literally indestructible would not be an overstatement. They are literally small tanks. In fact the US Marines ordered 157 G55’s to replace their limited use Desert Patrol Vehicle with a more modern and militarized Interim Fast Attack Vehicle. If that doesn’t attest to the build quality and integrity of these trucks I don’t know what does. Paint & Body Finding examples of cars like this in nearly new condition is very difficult to find. I have meticulously studied the paint for color match and factory orange peel from panel to panel all the way around the car. I would call the paint a 9.5 out of 10. The close up photographs display every shut-line gap to be perfection. My pictures might show some color differences but I can attest that is only because the clouds and light were moving around as I was taking the pictures. Each panel matches perfectly when you are looking at the car in person. When it comes to survivor original cars body is my thing… because it is hard to duplicate a perfect original body. When you are out looking for a 14 year old car, this is the type of specimen you would want to find. A pampered car from day one. The body is simply a 10. INTERIOR Adding to the car’s amazing cosmetics is the completely original Designo Black Nappa Leather Interior. Absolutely stunning... there is no bolster rash on the driver’s side seat or imperfections to the upholstery whatsoever. The headliner is like brand new. The carpets and seats are stain free and extremely tidy condition. There is a set of heavy duty rubber mats installed that have kept the underlying carpet in excellent condition. The car has never been smoked in. The overall interior is a solid 9+ out of 10. Mechanically, the car is superb. The engine starts easily, exhibits great oil pressure with no smoke. The brakes, transmission, and suspension are all up to the mark, and the car performs very well and reliably on the road. The car comes with all original tools, spare, jack, full set of factory floor mats, cup holder, all original books, and two keys/remotes. This is one sweet car to drive and has been my friends personal driver for the last few years and he has enjoyed every minute of it. This is the Mercedes flagship SUV and has well over $120,000 invested in it since 2005. If you have been searching for a well maintained G55 in the best color combo, the search ends here.
