The owner is a consummate car guy, who walked into Richard Hibbard Chevrolet in Claremont, CA in early 2005 and ordered a very special Black Convertible. He is extremely picky about his cars and is fastidious with maintenance, detailing and care to his vehicles. He is available to discuss the car and I will be happy to pass his number on to perspective buyers. I have been around Corvettes for over 40 years and have restored and personally collected 25 Corvettes from C1-C6. I have judged at many Concour venues in Southern CA over the last 15 years and am particularly adept in Survivor/Preservation Class automobiles and the forensics of such. This car is in #1 Condition retaining all of its original paint from the factory. DESCRIPTION Corvette Stingrays never go out of style and when they are as cool as this 2005 Black C6 Convertible it’s easy to understand why. The 2005 example featured here is an astounding specimen that was delivered new to Southern CA and has stayed here, in a garage the entire time with the original purchaser. He is only selling the car because he bought a 2013 C6 427 60th Anniversary Model. This Vette has lived a life as a weekend warrior traveling approximately 1800 miles per year, just a little over 24,000 miles since it was delivered 13 years ago. As far as options go, the owner checked every single box for a Convertible with the exception of the XM Radio Option. BODY & PAINT The body on this car is a virgin and has not had any repairs. There are zero dents, dings or scratches anywhere on the body. I have meticulously studied the paint for color match and factory orange peel from panel to panel all the way around the car. The close up photographs display every shut-line gap to be near perfection. It’s hard to believe that a car with 13 years of ownership has not had one bump, but it has not. The Car has been garaged every day of its life and has likely never seen a drop of rain. The finish is paint corrected and nearly flawless. When it comes to survivor original cars body is my thing… because it is hard to duplicate a perfect original body. When you are out looking for a 13 year old car, this is the type of specimen you would want to find. A pampered car from day one. Perfection. INTERIOR Adding to the car’s amazing cosmetics is the completely original Light Cashmere Leather Interior. Absolutely stunning... there is no bolster rash on the driver’s side seat or imperfections to the upholstery whatsoever. The top is like brand new. The carpets and seats are stain free and simply stunning. There is a brand new set of Cashmere mats in the trunk in a plastic bag that come with the car just in case you decide to show this car. The undercarriage is in excellent original condition, as a Southern California car should be with less than 25K miles on the clock. Needless to say, this is a no-smoke, no pet allowed car. Mechanically, the car is superb. The engine starts easily on the push of the starter button, exhibits great oil pressure with no smoke. The brakes, clutch, and suspension are all up to the mark, and the car performs very well and reliably on the road, rolling along smoothly on its factory optioned Aluminum Wheels and a like new set of Goodyear Eagle F1 radial tires (1000 miles). I might ad the Battery is brand new. The owner added a Magnaflow Exhaust from the cats back, giving the car a nice throaty sound that is very subtle at idle and cruising. The car has been serviced every 5000 miles since new. Everything on this little gem is exceptional. It drives and rides like a dream. There are zero issues. Clean CarFax and ready to go. Few things are as life-affirming as driving with the top down, and when done right, a convertible is motoring perfection. But some are better than others. Scarcely a few dozen truly great convertibles have ever graced our highways, and, for the money, these are the cream. The best of the best. This was the first year for the power top since 1962!! There are many 2005 Corvettes available on the market, but you will not find one that is as brand new as this one looks and feels. This is the type of car you “step-up” and buy the best of the marque. I have sold many cars on eBay for friends and family over the years, take a look at the remarks from people that have bought cars from my offerings. 99% of the vehicles have been purchased sight unseen and I have never had anyone disagree with my assessment of condition on any vehicle.
