Vehicle Detail

This is a very original 1979 Triumph T140E 750 Bonneville that I am selling for the widow of an old customer. The bike has the original paint job, which shows some fading on the tanks, but is in good mechanical shape and runs wells. The speedometer shows 15,575 miles, which I believe to be correct. This was the first year that the Triumphs came with electronic ignition, and has the Mark II carburetors. The following tasks have been taken care of, to help make sure that you get a good runner:1. Brand new tires, front and rear.2. New lower front disc brake hose, with new brake fluid.3. Engine oil and primary/clutch oil has been changed, and new gaskets installed.4. New fork cap nuts and decals installed, and new Triumph emblem insert on tank top.5. Clutch plates taken apart and cleaned and adjusted, along with adjusting the primary chain.6. Turn signals repaired and NOS parts installed.7. New footrest rubbers and gearshift rubber. The shifter is on the left side, for you modern bike riders, and the seat is in excellent condition and surprisingly comfortable. The front fender has a dent and a crack, and I do include a new replacement fender for you to install, as some people want to do their own fender work. The chrome is all good, including the rear luggage rack, and no rust except a little on the frame where the battery leaked a little acid from the overflow tube. There are no warranties on this bike after all, it's 38 years old! The signed-off Washington title is in her name, along with a bill of sale. If that makes you uncomfortable, I can transfer the title to my name and give you an Idaho title for what it cost me. I considered repainting the tank in original colors, but is probably more valuable as a collector with the original paint. Here's your chance to ride a classic Triumph with modern features, such as the electronic ignition, left shifter, and front and rear disc brakes. I can deliver in the Pacific Northwest and Montana for $150 if I can deliver it on one of my regular trips, otherwise you will need to arrange for shipping.
