Vehicle Detail
When it comes to collectible machinery, it helps to have a rare and desirable model, or something from an exclusive manufacturer, or something with super low miles, or something that was once owned by someone famous. Or in this case, all of the above. This super rare, Nico Bakker Barracuda (with vaunted Suzuki TL1000 power) was built exclusively for Nicholas Cage. Yes, the one with Ghost Rider film creds to his name. Talk about one in a million, here is a bike that can tick all the right boxes on every level. Star power never hurts, although it is seldom the single driver behind a collectible. Rather, this Barracuda, designed and constructed by the true Dutch Master known as Nico Bakker, could be the only one of its kind imported into the United States. You want rare, I challenge you to find a more meaningful or significant opportunity than this. Bakker is a firm that specialized in re-framing Japanese engines and the Bakker Barracuda features a steel tubular frame with alloy swingarm and a strong and reliable powertrain from the Suzuki TL1000. They also incorporated some of the best components available from around the globe. The most interesting aspect of the Barracuda is that you can adjust the chassis in a number of different ways. The ride height, steering angle and even the swing arm height can be altered. Nico Bakker is still building bikes to order in their Dutch factory. The bike being offered here is a Nico Bakker framed “Barracuda" that was originally built for the actor Nicolas Cage Nico Bakker is still building bikes in the small town of Heerhugowaard, Holland (about an hour north of Amsterdam). You can see more about Nico Bakker from this RSBFS visit to his shop. The pride and workmanship is clearly evident. Nico's catalog includes many different machines, and he will build any of his past designs to order. Of course none of them would have the star power of this Nicholas Cage machine, and you would still have to contend with the commissioning and importation of the bike. In this case, all that has already been done The studios must have curtailed his riding soon after he imported this bike, as it only has 1,232km (765 miles) on the odometer, and is basically a new bike that has been in a collection ever since Cage owned it. His name and signature are still on the California title, and this will be included with the sale. The bike was recently brought out of the collection for a battery replacement and servicing. It starts instantly and runs like new. This is as close to a “new” 15 year old bike that you are likely to find! Could possibly be the only example here in California or even in the entire United States? Perfect bike for a museum or collection. The VIN number is: "BAKKER 007" - How cool is that? Located in Ventura, California
