I've loved and tenderly cared for my 2000 VW TDI (Turbo Diesel) and consistently enjoyed 45MPG. This is one of the last built in Germany. Rare sporty two-door, silver, hatch, with a manual transmission. I bought her in 2010 and have given TLC for 8 years. Sacrificing because of I'm moving to South America at end of the month. The car was sanded down, by hand, and any minor metal defects repaired before being repainted factory silver in summer 2016 by a high quality professional. New Trans, New Clutch, Newish Tires, New Head Light Lenses (Glass), New Brakes, New Suspension parts (Struts, mounts, arms, rubber, etc.), and Much more--I've maintained the car because I never planned to sell it. Timing belt, & water pump replaced, by a TDI guru, and good. New touchscreen Android stereo. Run on high-quality oil. Clean title, must sell because I'm moving to South America. My hopes were to redo the interior fabric completely to make it perfect (At least front seats) That said: the interior is in decent condition for the age on driver side seat that has wear, scratches on interior handles (Common), and a new hinge needed for interior glove box (Common). The headliner is starting to come a bit undone on the edges. It needs a good cleaning from being stored. The car needs the computer repaired or replaced. I believe it is about a $250 part to replace with a used or refurbished computer from my research. It also needs a new AC compressor. Because I'm not mechanical and moved to a warm climate and needed the AC I garaged and didn't find time to get a local mechanic to repair. Front bumper cover loose on driver side, and mirror cover fell off removing it from the trailer when I moved it to this state. I'm sacrificing this car because I'm selling everything I own because of a move to Brazil. The "Buy Now" price even is very fair for anyone who knows the value of these cars. As with any car it has unknown issues, but I have taken good care of her and that is why I had her painted entirely in the Summer of 2016. I'd planned to keep her. Pay for shipping from Kansas City, replace the interior fabric with your choice of material, a few interior trim pieces, and the noted computer and AC issue and you have a new car at or below market and are getting 45mpg. She is imperfect without stated repairs and thus the very fair low "Buy Now" price and low reserve. I hope to find someone who knows and understands these cars value and will continue to maintain her well and give her the TLC she deserves.
