Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a 2005 BMW E46 M3 Convertible. The vehicle is Titanium Silver Metallic, with Black Leather interior. Options include; metallic paint, black leather interior, heated front seats, park distance control, rain sensor wipers, auto headlights, Xenon headlights, Harman-kardon Sound System, aluminum interior trim, 19" alloy wheels, and more. When the car was purchased in also included an SMG (Sequential Manual Gearbox) which if you know anything about these cars, was BMW's attempt at an automated manual transmission (pseudo Automatic transmission). Many people (including myself) HATE the SMG and prefer the driving thrill of a manual 6 speed instead. What most people don't realize, is that you can convert these vehicles to a pure BMW 6 speed, which is what I had done. The vehicle was shipped to Lang Racing Development in Irvine CA. Lang Racing has done more of these conversions than any other shop that I could find. Utilizing 100% Genuine BMW parts, the car was completely transformed back into a pure 6 speed manual (at a cost of over $3,000). The result is a perfect transmission with all new parts (brand new clutch and flywheel, new pressure plate, new release bearing, internals, wiring harnesses, clutch pedal, Master and Slave cylinder, hydraulic lines, sensors and reprogramming the ECU so that it knows the car is now a manual). There is absolutely no difference between this car and a car originally equipped with the Manual Transmission (except everything is brand new now, with about 1500 miles on the car since the transformation. In addition to the above, I have addressed every know weakness of this generation M3. Purist love the E46 and proclaim it to be the best M3 ever built, but like most cars it did have a few weaknesses, none of which had surfaced on the car, I just updated them all to make this the perfect E46 M3. The following is a list of all the things which have been completed in the last 6 months on this car: All alloy wheels were completely refinished. There is ZERO curb rash, nicks, scuffs etc on any wheelInstalled brand new Pirelli P-Zero radials all around. Tires have about 1000 miles on themRepaired any visible door ding or dent, via Paintless Dent Repair (PDR)Convertible top hydraulic system was checked out and reservoir topped offOil and filter changeFuel Filter changedActivated Carbon Cabin Filter changedValve clearances all adjustedCam bolts replacedUpper timing chain guide rail replacedVanos system rebuiltNew valve cover gasketInstalled new Eibach Springs front and rear to slightly lower vehicle and improve handlingHunter Laser AlignmentInspection of the rear subframe, no problems notedInstallation of K&N Cold Air IntakeReplaced all 4 oxygen sensorsReplaced spark plugs with platinum plugsReplaced rear trailing arm bushings with upgraded bushingsChanged transmission fluidChanged rear differential fluidReplaced Shifter Knob with shorter, weighted ZHP M3 knobReplaced all Rod Bearings with WPC coated Rod Bearings I think you get the idea. I'm a mechanical engineer by background. My hobby is buying Very Low Mileage sports cars, then improving them by eliminating inherent weaknesses that evolve over time, as the vehicles reach higher mileages. All of the mechanical work I have had done is done because they are real world issues that down the road would cause you problems (albeit probably not for a long time from now), however I resolved everything I can find as a weakness about these cars. The car itself drives and rides as good or better than new. Cosmetically it is near perfect. The only thing I have not done, which probably should be done, depending upon how you plan to use the car, is replace the Convertible Top. The top has no rips, holes, or problems, it's just sun faded as it wasn't properly protected by the previous owner. The reason I haven't done it, is I usually drive the car with the top down, not up, so for me it's not an issue. I have gotten three quotes to replace the top. The quotes were from $1,450-$1,650 depending upon which material you select (original BMW type or other material). I factored all of that into the price, so depending upon how you decide to use the car, you can decide if a new top is in your future. If I were gonna keep this car long term, I'd probably replace the top this summer So the bottom line on this car is this. You have what is arguably one of the lowest mileage 2005 BMW E46 M3's out there, that has basically been put in better than new mechanical condition, with a silky smooth 6 speed manual transmission, and all engine internals now stress and worry free. This car will run a very long time without needing anything. I am not aware of one thing (other than the top) that needs to be done to this car, nothing. Everything that I have done to the car is almost $11,000 and I have receipts for all the work I had done. In addition I have all the documentation from the original owner, the window sticker, and of course 2 keys for the vehicle. I have a clear title (no lien) in hand. If you are looking at other M3's I encourage you to ask the Sellers if they have done any of the work that I have already completed. I seriously doubt that other cars come close to the condition this car is in now. So be very very careful when looking at this generation, or the E36 or E92 generations of the M3. Each generation has inherent weaknesses. If you don't wanna mess with all that, then make sure the Seller has done his/her job, or more simply, just buy my car. It's all been taken care of, all you have to do is drive and enjoy this amazing car. If you have any questions please email me through Ebay or you can also call or text me at 970-507-1155. Hope you consider this great car seriously. If you decide to go with another car, do your homework and make sure the weaknesses have been addressed, or you could be spending a LOT of money down the road. You don't have that concern with my car. Good luck, let me know if I can help with questions or information. Chris
