Vehicle Detail
FOR SALEselling our 64 STUDEBAKER 3/4 ton CHAMP p/u. we bought the CHAMP for a father /son team that had started on the truck several years ago ( maybe as much as 30 years according to some of the paperwork ) ! when we got the truck the cab was just sitting on the frame (the frame had been cleaned you and painted while it was a bare frame ). while the cab was off, they took it to a shop where the floors, cab corners and rockers were replaced ! we took the motor out and it was rebuilt with being bored 30 over and new pistons and rings were installed. the heads have been rebuilt to modern specs ! the CHAMP has a 4 speed trans that shifts good. the flywheel was resurfaced and a rebuilt clutch and pressure plate were installed with a new throw out bearing. the bed has been done for about 30 years but is still in good shape as is the tail gate and it has new chains and covers. we put NOS front fenders on while it was apart. the doors, rockers and cab corners had been done before we picked up the truck. the cab was bare with nothing in or on it (glass out, dash out, seat out. the seat and door panels are original and still in good shape. new tinted door glass on both sides and new tinted ( non slider ) back glass. engine has a R1 intake with a new EDELDROCK 600 electric choke carb, rad was checked and cleaned ( has heavy duty cooling fan), new 3 wire alt, new battery. brakes were gone thru and a mustang power brake booster was used to get better brakes. gas tank was taken out cleaned and sealed with new fuel pump. new exhaust system. new tires, new w/s wiper motor and blades. we have a new headliner for it but it is not installed. we have a kit for the king pins but not installed. the CHAMP drives good with plenty of power, does not shake or pull . is equipped with an electric brake set up -- we pull a car trailer with the truck, it has a reese hitch type rear bumper more photos can be seen on our face book page STUDEBAKER CROSSROADS On Jan-12-18 at 09:43:23 PST, seller added the following information: we do have an air cleaner for it. we drove the CHAMP on a trip to Nashville Indiana this summer pulling a car trailer with a 59 LARK drag car on it and truck bed was loaded also..the trip was 350 ++ miles with out any trouble. had a lot of thumbs going down the interstate. the radio does not work On Jan-14-18 at 15:07:17 PST, seller added the following information: the engine is a heavy duty cloverleaf engine !!that's suppose to say "we had a lot of thumbs up going down the interstate " with the orange truck pulling an orange drag car !! On Jan-14-18 at 15:13:19 PST, seller added the following information: we make panels to put on the inside of the cars/trucks to keep the mud, water, road grime from getting where it would rust out. that is what the last pic is, the panel behind the head lightOn Jan-19-18 at 06:40:04 PST, seller added the following information: INTERIOR PICS ARE NOW DOWN LOADED !!! CHAMP now has a newer/better type air cleaner. truck is stored for the winter and can't get a pic of new air cleaner. we also have a 3:43 rear axle from a 3/4 ton chevy that goes with the truck to make it a better highway vehicle. the axle has not had the mounting brackets for the leaf springs welded back on yet but will go with purchased if buyer wants it. it was a disc brake rear end and has had new bearing and seals put in it. it is a 6 bolt hole pattern for the wheels. I do have the correct wheels for itOn Jan-22-18 at 06:37:33 PST, seller added the following information: we are trying to be as open and honest about this truck as I would a seller to be to us if we were buying a vehicle !!! there are small runs between the grill and head lights and some rock chips on the truck ( not a lot )because we drive the CHAMP a lot during nice weather. we had to cut an area out of the right front inner panel to put the 3 wire alt on. the extra rear axle does not have the brake components put back on, I wanted to wait till we had the spring brackets welded on in the right places. this was a future project to make the CHAMP cruise faster down the highway. we do drive this truck a lot !!!! we did put a couple of tie rods on it and had the toe-in set at the tire shop. we do have extra paint left from restoration ! we have 3 chevy wheels for the extra rear end- 6 bolts holesthe CHAMP has 16 inch wheels with "8 bolt holes" if any one has any ?s please get in touch with us On Jan-23-18 at 11:28:29 PST, seller added the following information: the last 2 photo are of the GMC rear end, we put it back together with new rotors, the pads looked new. there will be no emergency brake and ""NO OIL OR GREASE IN THE GEARS""
