Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 1991 Toyota pickup. It's not a Tacoma... Toyota trucks were just called 'Pickup' until 1994, when they started calling them Tacoma's. 4 cylinder 22RE, 4x4, automatic transmission with a Fisher plow setup. This is a yard truck that I used to plow my 500+ foot long driveway, which it did very well. That was until last weekwhen I managed to snap the right front lower suspension arm off. It's now stuck on the side of the driveway and I'm done with it. I went out and bought a Kubota to do snow removal, and the truck has got to go! As it sits right now, this is really best suited as a parts truck or a project for someone with welding skills & time. The previous owner had the truck on the road in 2016 in Rhode Island, and used it for plowing & dump runs etc, which is what my original intention was as well. This is going to be a NO RESERVE AUCTION. Whatever I get, I get... it doesn't owe me anything. I bought the truck in the fall of 2016 after the frame of my 1993 Toyota pickup snapped in half (that was an interesting noise by the way). The body on my old truck was way too nice to scrap, so I swapped the following parts with this truck :HoodFront fendersFront bumper / valancehoodboth doorsbedwheels & tiresVIdeo:If you are interested in seeing a video of the truck running & the plow working to the suspension failure let me know and I'll provide it to you... apparently ebay no longer allows posting links to video links. The good:Starts and runs just finePower 4 way fisher plow works great, with a newer edge (Plow blade itself in nice shape). Just painted it with cub cadet yellow/orange enamel last fall tooNewer exhaust system including catAutomatic transmission shifts and works as it should4X4 worked greatBrand New Champion battery as of September 2017All new front brakes (rotors, calipers and pads) as of December 2016 at a cost of over $450.00Tires on the truck have good tread for plowing, and Including a set of 4 33 x 10.5 BFG AT tires in the sale if you want them (came off my wrangler)Very nice tonneau cover on the bed with no holesCD player works fineno rust anywhere on bed, tailgate or front fenders. Doors have a tiny bit of surface rust developing at the very bottom edge... not terrible though. Hood has some dents, but no rust.Heat works goodDoes have an AC pump, but not hooked upGood glass all aroundTitle in handChilton repair manual comes with the truck The Bad:The right front suspension a-arm snapped last week, so the right front wheel & axle spindle are only hanging on by the top ball joint. Fun. The mount itself looks OK, but the a-arms are just wicked rusty. The frame is rotted in a section just in front of the left rear tire. The previous owner had applied a steel patch on the bottom of the frame, just below where the rot is... the patch still looks OK. Might be able to cut it out and repair? No clue... just found it poking about with my thumb. The cab has some soft spots, by the left foot well and behind the drivers seat. Small leak somewhere in the exhaust manifold... not terribly loud, but not super quiet either.Rust. The rust is the worst part of this truck by far. I paid $1,600 for the truck in late October 2016, and then paid $450 for the brake repair and $100 or so for the battery. The suspension arm looks to be easily replaceable (the arm itself snapped, not the mount). There looks to be enough solid metal around the hole is in the frame to patch, but I'm no welder. This could be a decent yard truck or a great donor truck if you've got a decent frame and/or welding skills. I Just want it out of the yard at this point. I'll help get it loaded and whatnot, but actual shipping & logistics is the buyers responsibility. Let me know if you want more pictures or further explanation, I will be happy to provide. PLEASE NOTE: I'm less than 10 minutes off of the I-84 / I-90 junction in Sturbridge MA. if you win the auction, please consider the costs of towing or removal. These are buyers responsibilities (again, I will be happy to help coordinate). Happy bidding, good luck! -Matt On Dec-20-17 at 09:12:48 PST, seller added the following information: VIN - IMPORTANT UPDATE My apologies - I listed the incorrect VIN on this posting. The VIN listed here is from my 1993 Toyota, I grabbed the incorrect registration.
