Up for auction is a 2002 manual transmission, Subaru WRX wagon, a Southern California car in well maintained condition. This is a classic, unmodified bugeye WRX turbo Impreza in rare Sedona Red Pearl with plenty of miles left on her. I purchased this vehicle in 2003 with a Salvaged title due to a front end collision within its first 12K miles. The rebuild was expertly done and with 88K miles and fourteen years later any issues that could have resulted have long been shaken out. This sharp, all-wheel drive WRX handles great and has plenty of pep under the hood. Maintenance over the past few years has mostly been done by AQ Motosports in Torrance, CA, well-known WRX performance experts. The work reflects my original plan to hold on to her for at least another 50K miles of daily use past the 100K it recently turned over. A new car purchase has changed all of that as it is now time to pass her on to another subie fan. Recent items include (I can dig up receipts for the purchaser);- Bridgestone tires- turbo replace (Subaru stock), timing belt, water pump etc.- full 100K mile tune up- reconditioned brakes- power steering- Anzo Crystal Black Headlights- carbon fiber hood The clutch and transmission have not been worked on because this has not been an issue up to this point. I never raced or drove this vehicle hard. - Other than the usual urban-cruiser-door-dings the body is in good condition. - Paint has some blistering which is why I replaced the original hood with the STi carbon fiber, though I still have the original available with the sale. - Rear left side bumper has paint scrapes. - Some of the window tinting is peeling.- interior and seats are in good condition- AC, cruise control, power windows, electronic locks, vintage tape and six CD player all work as should- regular oil changes with only Mobile 1 Synthetic and genuine Subaru oil and air filters. This is a fun-to-drive yet practical car yielding reasonable gas milage and a surprising amount of cargo space especially with the rear seats down.
