I am reluctantly selling my beautiful Red 1998 Honda Super hawk VTR1000F 996 . This bike is in excellent condition and I will be sad to see it go. This bike has 20,373 miles, runs perfect and everything works, I have put a lot into this bike. The only reason why I am selling is because I just purchased a Ducati. I bought this bike in 2015 from a friend (2nd owner) who had it in storage for a few years. Please read the entire ad before bidding. ENGINE: Everything works on this bike and it runs perfectly. The fuel system was completely cleaned. The carburetors were ultrasonically cleaned, rebuilt with new parts and synchronized (stock Jetting). The coolant was changed out, I used Engine ice and it stays cool and performs well. The battery is only a year old and stays on a tender when not in use. Oil and filter just changed, new sparkplugs, New OEM air filter. New stator and rectifier, yes I have gone through this bike top to bottom. I purchased the high mount Jardine RT One exhaust used from ebay, it sounds amazing. The exhaust has a few scuffs from the previous owner but they still look great. The stock exhaust and passenger foot pegs are included. The bike tipped in a garage causing the clutch cover repair (bottom see pictures) this happened by the first owner, this bike does not leak a drop of anything if it was an issue I would have replaced.Galfer Stainless steel Clutch line and the clutch master cylinder has been rebuilt. CHASSIS: The suspension is strong and the bike rides very nice. I purchased a set of front forks with Racetech internals from the Superhawk forum (not cheap either). The outside of the fork legs show a little Patina but the original front forks are included and are in excellent condition. Tires are a few years old but they are still in good shape. I have replaced all of the brake pads and rotors with SBK wave rotors WOW amazing difference. All Galfer SS Stainless Steel Brake lines and new brake fluid. Front brake master cylinder has been rebuilt. I added frame sliders for addition protection. LP Racing swingarm race stand is included. BODY: This bike is original and is as good as it gets. The original Honda red paint really shines. I get compliments on the bike all the time. I added mirror extenders so now you can see what’s behind you. It has a Zero Gravity double bubble windscreen. The under tail and flush turn signals were added back in the 90s not stock but it has a clean look. The gas tank is in terrific condition, the inside was flushed out and it is spotless. No dings or dents. 2 minor paint chips on the tank I pointed out in pictures. The seat is perfect. Some minor scuffs on the tail section. Last winter I accidentally bumped the left mirror in the garage and it cracked the plastic by the windscreen, it wasn’t noticeable enough for me to replace but new body panels are still available.
