Vehicle Detail
1965 Corvair Corsa with 140 engine that has had some performance work done. 4 into 1 intake with Carter AFB 4 barrel carburetor. Finned aluminum oil pan, headers and mild cam. All parts were sourced from Clarks Corvair parts. Estimated 25K miles since rebuilt. Engine runs well and does NOT knock or leak oil. Charging system works well , changed over to "SI" type Delco Remy internal regulator alternator, wiring harness was not butchered, regulator bypass plug was used. Can be switched back if desired. 4 speed transmission shifts properly, seeps some oil over time from the shift shaft seal. Clutch is operational but seems weak, Differential has tall gears, geared to run on the highway. Aftermarket (Summit) rally wheels with fat 14" BFG tires that have dry rot.. Body is solid underneath, floors and doors are solid as are the rear shock upper mount areas and the front trunk area. Rust peeking through some of the fringe areas and in some areas around windshield and rear window.as shown in pictures. Most paint is original with exception of the left front and side area that appears to have had collision work done at one time. Rear bumper is good, front bumper is straight but chrome peeling in two places. "Corsa" script that is missing on left fender is included. All foam type weather stripping is dried out and needs to be replaced (Clarks is recommended). Interior is in fair condition, right seat good, left seat seam split open at top corner, rear seat split open at top center. Front rug was removed because of water leaking in from top left side of windshield. Headliner has a split open seam , the plastic strip moldings for the upper windshield and rear window surround areas need to be replaced (all available from Clarks). Windshield pillar moldings were removed, (are included). Sound deadening material in rear area under window (currently removed) is included. All door panels are good. Glass is dirty but good with the exception of the windshield that has clouding on the left side (see pictures) and should be replaced. Brakes have all new parts and work but need to be adjusted (low pedal). Has dual master cylinder. All gauges including speedometer work, lights, wipers work, not sure if clock works. Original wiper blades. Antenna in the trunk, (removed because of car cover used for storage). Radio is an aftermarket AM/FM Cassette with dual 4" speakers under dash where stock speaker used to be. Never tried it, wires hanging from under dash. No holes were cut in door panels. In general, it does not need much mechanical work, the majority of work needed is cosmetic. If you are good with fiberglass (for spot rust work), and a paint and body man, you have a good restoration candidate. I had these intentions when I purchased it but due to health issues and loss of repair facility, I feel it better to pass it on to someone who will give it the good home I no longer can. Car is currently stored in Falls, Pa. 18615 and would have to be picked up there. I can deliver the car within a reasonable distance on an open trailer. As transport "brokers" are a problem, I can store for up to 2 months awaiting pickup. I would recommend a personal inspection be done by buyer. PLEASE READ PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS SO THERE ARE NO SURPRISES.
