Vehicle Detail

Street Rod, Pro Street or Cruiser 1951 Morris Minor with a very nice all steel body and a professionally built driveline consisting of a 406 cu in Small Block Chevrolet expertly created with all of the necessary go fast goodies (see detailed specs below), a built TH 400 automatic transmission and a 9” Ford rear differential with Lokers. The entire driveline has less than 300 miles on it and has been built for the track and for fun. It works great on the street and handles quite well. The custom chassis is integral with the body and consists of independent front “A” frame GM suspension with disc brakes up front and CoilOver rear suspension with traction masters and a rear sway bar. The rear Axle is a shortened 9” Ford with Lokers. The battery is in the rear as is the 10 gal fuel cell, fuel pump and fuel cooler. Both seats have 5 point harnesses and the body is reinforced by a full roll bar for protection. Drive it on the street, take it to shows or cruise night or go to the drag strip for some serious exhilaration. It is a very fast car!! I have pictures of the engine build that I can send to you and below are the specs of the engine build for those of you who want the details: Casting #3951511 Chevy 406 cu in SB out of a Chevy K-20 Bored .060 over Canadian 4 Bolt Main Block 3 Freeze Plugs instead of 2 Balanced Crankshaft, Rod & Piston Assembly I-Beam Rods Cleared for High Lift Cam COR Hypertech Aluminum pistons, Dish Type .010 Cast Crankshaft #3951528 (GM 400) Piston to Wall Bottom .025 Good Hone No Ring Lands Cam and Lifters Cam = Doug Herbert Lift = 285 Intake, 295 Exhaust Duration = 465 Intake, 495 Exhaust Lift Double Roller Timing Set The body is all rust free steel without any body filler that I can find. The comfortable interior upholstery is a clever design with the stitching randomly resembling a “web”. This design carries through the doors, entire dash and center console. There is also a tilt steering wheel. The oil pressure and water temp gauges are wired up and the tach is an LED lit analog unit with adjustable points for torque converter lock up RPM (green) and MAX RPM (red). It also has memory for max RPM. I have it set so the green light comes on 1K RPM before the red shift light as a warning to get ready to shift. This car goes through the gears VERY quickly with its 4.11 rear ratio. Running 22 lbs. pressure in the MT slicks this car won’t sit there and waste time spinning the rear tires……it just LAUNCHES! On a clean track you will see a shadow of tire marks for 100’ or so as they barely broke traction on their way to the finish line. It really gets out of the hole fast! My speed master guru and I have super tuned the 650 cfm Edelbrock carb (on an Edelbrock manifold), installed a fully digital ignition system complete with a new billet distributor, 8mm carbon core low ohm silicone wires with heat insulators at the headers, a very powerful Mallory coil and all of this being controlled by a state of the art MSD control box with two adjustable rev limiters. The distributor is a mechanical advance unit and although the MSD (Multi Spark Discharge) controls spark advance the mechanical advance on the new distributor has three different settings based on the changing of spacers and springs on the distributor plate itself. An engine with a high lift cam typically won’t produce enough vacuum to run a spark advance unit by itself. The construction of this Pro Track, Pro Street car is amazingly solid. An awful lot of work, money and engineering went into this project and it shows everywhere you look. From the outside it is a 1951 Split Windshield (rare by itself) Morris Minor 1000. These were produced in Great Britain from the late 1940’s to the early 1960’s and many left hand drive versions made their way to the USA after the war. This one continued on to be the “mouse that roared”. The deep rumbling exhaust sound and the rocking of the body at idle are a hint of the fun this car holds in store. This Morris Minor has an amazing feeling of power and acceleration that I haven’t found in other builds that I have owned. With the wonderful low rumble that this exhaust makes you won’t be sneaking into any cruise nights or car shows. There is NOTHING MINOR ABOUT THIS MORRIS! This is for sale locally so I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time.
