Vehicle Detail
Beautifully restored 1965 Triumph Trophy TR6SR. Restoration was completed late in 2015 and has been ridden less than 500 miles since. Painting was completed by Morrie's Place in Ringwood, Illinois utilizing the correct paints from Don Hutchinson Cycle. Rare correct paint scheme with Burnished Gold, Alaskan White, and lined with Robin's Egg Blue. All numbers match and are original. Tank is original with both fenders purchased from England. All black parts have been powder coated closely matching the original color. Engine has been completely rebuilt to specifications with new +.020 bore and new pistons and rings, all new bearings and seals throughout motor and transmission, and new oil pump. Cylinder head has been rebuilt with new valves and guides. The Amal Monobloc Carburetor is new, but the original Amal carburetor will be included in sale. the choke is hooked up and works fine. The rear rim is an original Dunlop, while the front is a new English made CWC rim. Both are in beautiful condition, with new stainless steel spokes and chrome nipples from Buchanan's. The tires are new Dunlop Gold Seal K70's. Both hubs have been completely rebuilt with new bearings and powder coated. Whitworth hardware used throughout bike was either cad plated or replace with correct ones from suppliers. Headlight is a reproduction bucket (could not find a good Lucas) with a new Lucas headlight ring and glass. Wiring harness has the correct colors and was ordered from British Wiring. Ammeter is a new English made replacement, but I will include a working original correct Lucas with the bike. Both the speedometer and tachometer were rebuilt by Foreigh Speedo in San Diego, CA. Yes, that is how the tach cable is suppose to be attached! Front end was completely rebuilt with new fork tubes, seals, and boots installed. Exhaust and silencers are English made and sound wonderful! The bike has a Boyer Electronic Ignition with a Podronics regulator. the kill switch is hooked up and works great. The rotor and stator are new Wassell, and has been upgraded to 16 amp to handle any needed loads. Correct dual seat was acquired from Wassell. Although this beautifully restored bike would add tremendously to any collection, I build every bike to be ridden. This bike runs wonderfully for a classic bike, and loves speeds between 60-70 MPH, although it will run faster. It currently has no leaks other than a drip on occasion from the engine breather tube which has been run to the back fender as later Triumphs, but it is a Triumph! It is an absolute blast to ride. Only reason I am selling is that I currently have too many bikes for my shop and I have other builds waiting. I am a long time Triumph owner and restorer and try to provide as much information on the bike so that you are comfortably purchasing from me. Please check my feedback. The bike has been ridden, so there might be a very small chip here and there in the black parts, and a very small pencil lead chip on the tank near the gas cap. This is almost impossible to see, but I do want to be honest with you. If you are unfamiliar with classic Triumphs, their drum brakes are not the best. Although new brake pads have been installed, they are nowhere near as effective as disc brakes! Since it is a classic bike, there are no guarantees or warranties on the bike. Shipping is the responsibility of the purchaser, although I can provide delivery to Davenport, IA for the Chief Blackhawk Meet on Thursday August 31. If you would like to see the bike, you are welcome to contact me to arrange a time and date. I am more than happy to answer any questions you may have about the bike and it's restoration. Title is clear and in my name. If you buy the bike, a $500 immediate deposit through PayPal is required, with the remainder to be paid in cash within 7 days.
