1968 Charger Up for auction for the first time ever. I just purchased this Charger from the second owners and wanted to test the waters. This car is really a storage container time capsule. The Charger was bought by the second owners in 1973. They drove the car until 1985. My understanding is the Charger was at one time a 318 and was upgraded to a 383 many yrs ago. Has a 3 spd auto trans with an 8 ¾ rear end. Not sure on ratio. The second owners oiled everything on the car in1985 and put it in a storage container on his property, hence the pics. My understanding is that the Charger was pulled out of storage in 2012. It has had one repaint in 1983 and body work in 1983 was done by the owner. It has held up very well in my opinion for a 33 yr old paint job but is starting to show it’s age. The under body is in nice shape for it’s age. It does have a small hole in rear driver’s frame rail in front of rear wheel and one in cross member pass side. Very easy fix. Now, to be perfectly clear, the car does have some bondo in the quarters and on the bottom of the fenders and top of driver’s fender and little in the doors. Not bad though. Just wanted to mention to be perfectly honestly The interior of this car is awesome. Head liner, Dash, seats and carpet are beautiful. There is however one very small split in pass seat. Bumpers are nice and straight but would need a re chrome. All glass is great as well as chrome trim. Power steering & power drum brakes all around. Hide a way head lights worked up & down when I bought it but have since found a pin hole in vacuum canister. Another easy fix. Original colored spare rim in trunk with newer tire. New tires with original hub caps. I have a brand new fuel tank, sending unit, straps, fuel line from front to back and new J bolts that will come with the car. Sour gas and rust in the tank, I wouldn’t trust it. I put a new fuel pump on and it fired up nicely and runs very well. This car will need a little work but overall, I would grade it a solid 5 ½ - 6 out of 10. You could do a full restoration on this Charger or just put a suit & tie on it and have a really nice ride for a lot less than what I’m seeing them go for on here. I have tried to describe the Charger the best I can and from what I see. Please ask any questions and I will do my very best to accommodate everyone. I don’t need to sell but it should go to a Mopar guy that can give it the attention it truly deserves. Car is sold as is with no warranty implied. I’m happy to answer any inquiries. I welcome inspections or 3rd party inspections, and encourage them. As well, I invite anyone wishing to see in person, I will happily accommodate. I will not tolerate tire kickers, test pilots or anyone just coming to pick the car apart thinking your going to steal it. You will be asked to leave because you’re done here.
