1952 MGTD that needs to sell quickly. I purchased the TD about 12 years ago with full intent of restoring her. My wife and I nicknamed her Chitty after Chitty-chitty-bang-bang from Mary Poppins. Fortunately I never really started the project and knew enough not to disassemble the car until I was committed to the restoration. Chitty has an excellent body. It is very straight and the doors work perfectly. I’ve heard that the doors were a critical factor. Chitty was last started and driven about 3 years ago, and worked fine at the time. Chitty’s battery is dead and over 6 years old and so I never even attempted to charge it. The tires are also old and are probably not safe for any travel more than around the block. The paint is original and oxidized. Like the paint Chitty is very original and has no rust that I’m aware of. The speedometer works, but the odometer never moves. Here is what I’ve done since acquiring Chitty and what comes with her. Since acquiring her I’ve had the brakes redone and replaced the exhaust pipe. Other than changing motor and transmission oils, spark plugs, points, and condenser, I’ve done little else. Here is what comes with her including today’s Moss Motors prices and stock numbers. Also in the pictures are the original side curtains and rear window. I’m told these are coveted by the concourse folks. It needs to sell, hence no reserve.
