Selling for my next door neighbor. This was her husbands car, and he passed unexpectedly. Up for sale is a very nice 1948 Chevy Fleetmaster 4 door. The good: While it is not a show car (it has been entered in local shows) it is in very nice condition. Nice paint (some scratches, dings, blemishes), has nice shine. Chrome and trim are very nice. Tires in very good condition. Interior is also very nice. Overall a very clean 48 Fleetmaster. The not as good: The mechanicals are good, and the engine runs, but: Just before my neighbors passing, the car started to backfire occasionally. He did a tune up (plugs, wires, battery, points, cap rotor, etc) and this did not solve the problem. We have had a compression test done, and #4 cylinder has low compression. We are unsure as to if its a valve or ring issue. If the #4 plug wire is removed, the backfiring stops and the car can be driven and moved. This is a really nice 48 Fleetmaster, and once the issue with the engine is resolved, it would be a great car again. Please message me with any questions or additional information. Thanks for looking.
