Owned by nonsmoker retired doctor and member of Heart of America Jaguar Club. Many think XK8 is most beautiful Jaguar design since the XKE. I agree. It has heated power leather seats with lumbar adjustment, anti-theft device, back up camera (poor vision through back glass when top is up), high gloss red finish with silver flakes in mag wheels. Low profile Continental tires on 18" front and 19" rear rims. Top is brown and had recent application of water repellent even though the car has never been in the rain/snow since I've owned it. Tires are very good Continental low profile. Five speed auto transmission with overdrive and normal and sport shift modes. Leather wrapped steering wheel with power tilt/telescoping function. Two position memory for seats, mirrors and steering wheel. Walnut dash and trim in new condition. Rain sensing wipers and fog lamps. Lighted sun visor. Electrochromatic rear view mirror. Automatic all-speed stability/traction control. Twenty gallon fuel tank and rated at 16 city-24 highway MPG. Car Fax shows car had two previous owners and has been in Virginia and California. I bought it on Ebay out of California. It has Jaguar dealer applied clear bra material on front end, mirrors and along edge of doors. This has prevented paint chips from small stones on roadway. This material is nearly invisible as evident in photos and can be treated like the rest of the body. This Jaguar gets frequent comments and compliments. I've taken it to several area car shows including concours, but for display only, not to be judged. The Car Fax shows 2008 accident to driver side front fender. It was repaired though Brown's Jaguar in North Chesterfield, VA. Jaguar changed XK8 to improved 4 litre engine starting with 2003 model year. XK8's have had a serious design flaw involving hydraulic lines for convertible top. The lines tend to deteriorate along the top of the windshield where the locking latch operates. Google 'XK8 hydraulic top' and you will find references and pictures related to the problem. Jaguar has never admitted to the flaw and offers no compensation for needed repair. At one time, Jaguar did offer a kit to fix the problem, but it never really worked and has since been discontinued. The hydraulic reservoir is in the trunk and all flexible lines between trunk and windshield must be replaced. Most of the interior must be removed to replace all hoses. The repair is a $2k to $3k cost if you can find shop experienced in this particular repair. Though my Jaguar club, I found repair facility and had the repair DONE with upgraded hoses. Even if you don't buy my XK8, do check out the history of this problem. NO MORE HYDRAULIC LEAKS FOR THIS XK8! Jaguar sold without warranty.
