This is a vintage one-owner car, garaged its whole life. It is mechanically great, with no major breakdowns or repairs. It has had only Dealer service on the prescribed maintenance schedule. The upholstery and carpet are all original, with some soiling (see photos), but no wear-through or tears. This car is one of the earliest off the Insight assembly line (# 3604), and it has been very tight its whole life. It is only 3 years from being an antique, and with just a little TLC (and a new hybrid battery), it could be in close to original condition when the day arrives. The car has been driven by only one driver, a hypermiler, so over its entire 135,000 miles it has averaged 82.9 MPG. It's official hypermiling handle is "Rubber Band". In its prime, hypermiling long distances, I recorded many tanks of over 90 MPG. Now, with age and less rigorous driving, I get in the low 70's. The car has a number of age-related issues. Foremost is a dead hybrid battery (although the accessory battery is brand new). So, the car currently starts and drives fine (okay to test drive), but since there is no alternator, the accessory battery will soon deplete and the car will be electrically dead if the hybrid battery is not replaced.
