Vehicle Detail

1983 Watercooled Vanagon Campmobile. Rust: nothing serious, a little surface rust in a few areas.Paint: left rear area worn and faded.Engine: standard 1.9 water cooled. Mileage estimate 175, rebuilt approximately 6000 miles ago. Starts, runs, good power, idles, all good. No smog in Oregon, but no missing smog parts and rebuilt engine should smog ok. New muffler.Mileage: odometer broke at 161k. Estimate from previous owner and my own driving to be at 175k now. Replaced speedometer with one that has a working odometer, so it reads about 155k now. Update: odometer/tripmeter just pooped out at about 157, so now only speedo works.Windshield: think it is the original, has some pitting and a small stable crack and a rock chip.Upper canvas replaced with gowesty kit with the 3 vents, in good shape. No cracks in dash, has had a dash cover for long time. All electrics work except interior lights don't come on when you open the door.Wheels: Audi 17"x 7.5 Tires: 1/8th- 3/16 tread left, will need replacing soon.Missing the passenger side screen.extra front lights2 separate house batteries: 33 amp hr and 55 amp hr, you can toggle between them as needed. If you are plugged there is a Float charger for recharging, or if you are camping there is a solar panel and charge controller for recharging, you can select to charge either of the 3 batteries although you normally don't need to recharge the main battery unless you screwed up and left the lights on. 300w inverter.Cigar lighter ports and USB adapter hooked up to house battery. All interior lights run on house battery, not main battery.Extra LED reading light above table, Wimpy stove light replaced with modern slim led light.Comes with owners' manuals and Bentley repair manual.Dual brand radio/cd/usb player, 4 spks, toggle to house battery when camping.Stock seats, no rips.Fridge works, although I've never tested the propane mode, previous owner said it works. Gas stove works. Sink/water pump works.Has AC which works, but doesn't get too cool.Since this is an 83 it has the contact paper which peels, but it has been 80% replaced with either upholstery fabric or paint depending on the area. The big boards for the top bunk still have the contact paper but they are not peeling. The big board in the back under the AC has not been replaced and there is a small area that is peeling.Delivery to West US not out of the question, would have to discuss terms.Viewing and test drive available.Or registration till Mar 2018This is a pretty cool van with a few rough spots, but ready to go camping.Trades for Class C RV would be considered.Need additional info or clarification please ask. On Jun-03-17 at 14:05:12 PDT, seller added the following information: additional: got a couple questions about will it make it cross country. Answer: it might, but things can go wrong, wouldn't recommend it. I've been driving it so know it would probably make it, but I haven't taken it out for a long spin in a while, so I took it out this morning. Drove to the California coast via hwy 199, to Crescent City. Went thru the redwoods, past the Smith river to the ocean. Nice drive, but I had things to do so I headed back. About 5 hrs and about 200 miles. No problems. Took a couple pics.1983 Watercooled Vanagon Campmobile.
