Offered here is an ultra low mileage, rust free SL coupe that has spent its life pampered by well-to-do owners with limited, fine weather use. From 1980 until 2014, the car had two (doctor) owners in dry Colorado and Wyoming before coming to my indoor Florida warehouse where I have enjoyed it on nice days. When you look and drive this car, it is hard to believe that it is nearly thirty-seven years old. The color combination of Astral Silver/Navy Blue (exterior/interior) was popular and does not appear "dated" as many of the other period colors now seem. The original body panels are straight and the paint and bright work are in excellent condition. Unlike all the other SLs and SLCs of this era you see for sale, this car has seats with foam that is still soft and as comfortable as they were in 1980. The underside of this car is immaculate and the car is totally rust free. Please do not mistake this car as being anything like other old SLCs that you typically see for sale. On this car, you will not a single instance of past or present corrosion in all the typical places: door bottoms, rocker panels, cowl (blower motor) area, under rear window, or on trunk floor. The original Becker stereo works properly and the original clock keeps perfect time. The air conditioning has been working, but after slight loss of refrigerant over time, now needs recharging (it has not been converted and still uses R12). Also, the European-style headlight assemblies in the photo are no longer installed - the car will be sold with United States period-compliant sealed beam headlights.
