Vehicle Detail
Named after one of Ferrari's first coach builders, Sergio Scaglietti, this 2 plus 2 is one of Ferrari's ultimate grand touring vehicles. Sergio was known for being an artisan in aluminum sculpting and Ferrari definitely chose the proper namesake. In fact this was the second Ferrari to have a completely aluminum body. Designed to be the true successor to the 456M 2 plus 2, the 612 vastly improves on what was a very successful formula. Despite its larger size, it actually weighs less due to the aluminum used in construction. The body rigidity was also improved by over 60% and the weight distribution was enhanced. The engine is a new, all-aluminum, 48-valve, 5.75-liter V-12. This drive-by-wire system punches out 532 horsepower, 98 hp more than the 456GT; torque is rated at 434 lb-ft. Ferrari claims the Scaglietti will deliver 0-60 times of 4.1 seconds, about a tenth of a second faster than the 2 plus 2 it replaces. Top speed is a claimed 196 mph. What all of this boils down to is, dare we say, a Ferrari that makes many concessions to the type of driving most of us do every day. The 612 has back seats that are actually usable by adults, is extremely generous on cabin space, and even has a decently sized trunk. It is also the first Ferrari ever to feature an active damping suspension and CST stability and traction control. Don't worry, this is by no means a "dumbed" down car, as you will immediately be able to tell when you take it for a test drive. This particular 612 is offered in stunning Grigio Titanio Metallic over Blue Scuro and has only covered 16,599 miles but does not come without flaws. Vehicle was sent to Ferrari South Bay for a pre-purchase inspection directly after we acquired the vehicle. Ferrari of South Bay found prior repairs to the right rear fender and side skirt, front bumpers have some blemishes, front grill missing a piece, under pans have some mismatched hardware w/some cross threaded, minor oil seepage from right side cam seals, check engine light illuminated, oil over filled, OBD cover missing, hazard warning button stuck, passenger window switch sticky, wiper blades streaking and dash leather on RR shelf leather trunk panes is warped. Clutch wear on the F1 is reading only 26% worn. We will be bringing all services up to date and correcting the issue with the check engine light and making sure all fluids are fresh and at correct levels. The Pzero tires measure at 5/32nd rear and 7/32nd on the front. Front brakes are at 6mm pad thickness and rear brakes are at 8mm pad thickness. There are two master keys included. No books or tools are available with this vehicle. Full PPI from Ferrari South Bay can be viewed in photos. Vehicle has a clean and clear title ready to transfer to the next owner.
