Vehicle Detail

2006 Dodge Charger with the Hemi Police Package. This was a very well maintained small town take home supervisor driven police car. I bought this car in the Summer of 2015. I specifically wanted this car because it was driven by a supervisor. I also knew he was older than the officers of whom drove the other cars. He was also a non-smoker. This car had higher mileage than the other 8 that I looked at however it did not have the notorious Hemi tick and idled much better than the others even after sitting for three months without being started. The valve guide seals are very tight. The engine idles very smooth. The first thing I did to this car was remove the seats, carpets, and interior plastic trim. I installed a new police dome light, I replaced all the worn interior parts to include the B Pillars. These had holes left behind from the cage. They are not an exact color match however you would never notice. I also replaced the drivers carpet. I scrubbed the headliner, and hot water pressure washed the seats and carpet. I also cleaned the floor. I then applied two coats of brush on bed liner from behind the pedals through to the spare tire area for additional sound proofing. I also removed some of the unnecessary wiring which was added to the car. I did leave the multi outlet cigarette lighters and capped the heavy gauge higher voltage power cable located under the very cool Havis center console. The steering wheel is a little worn as you can see in photos. I bought original filler panels to cover empty spaces were equipment was removed. I also replaced one of the motors and the switch assembly in the driver’s seat. Most of the trunk interior was replaced as well as washed. Car does not have a full size spare tire. It has the mini spare. The windshield had some scratches so I had it replaced. I then had a professional tint the windows to a Georgia Legal 35. The driver’s side rear of the car had some paint damage and some noticeable scratches so I had a body shop paint it. The rest of the car has typical police car paint chips and scratches. Decal impressions only lightly remain on the trunk and rear bumper. They are unnoticeable on the rest of the car. The undercarriage has typical police car scuffs and small dents. The lower side molding is also scuffed, however not very noticeable. The car was in an accident however it was only cosmetic damage. The drivers side front door and fender needed repainting due to someone dragging there plastic bumper down the side of it right between the door and fender behind the wheel arch. The only damage was scratches on the paint which was fixed by a body shop but was reported because the driver at fault had a brand new car and the cost of her repairs were to expensive for her to pay for both cars out of pocket. The roof of the car has one snap in plastic cap filing a wiring hole. Four antennas which can be unscrewed as well as some sort of GPS are still attached to vehicle. I reconnected the horns and installed new headlights and marker lights. The new fog lights are connected to ignition power so they will turn off with the ignition key. I utilized wiring previously used by police lighting. I also sealed both headlights and fog lights with clear silicone to ensure no moisture will get in. I also replaced all of the LED bulbs illuminating the Heat and Ac controls. The rear suspension is in great shape and had been replaced before I bought it. I replaced the front police performance struts, reusing only the heavy duty springs. I also replaced the heavy duty front sway bar links and polyurethane bushings. The rest of the front end was good and had already been replaced before. The lower ball joints have grease fillings. The power steering pump was a little noisy so I replaced it with a used one. I also changed the power steering fluid. I changed the rear differential oil with full synthetic. I changed the brake fluid twice since I owned the car as well as recently replace all of the brake pads. The rotors are slotted and still in great shape. I do not like flushing so I changed the transmission fluid and FILLER two times since owning this car. The contract in house mechanics also service transmissions as a part of their maintenance program. I replaced the water pump, thermostat, reservoir cap and all of the front upper and lower radiator hoses just to make the car more reliable. I also flushed cooling system twice using HOAT organic coolant and distilled water. I cleaned the inside of the fuel tank I replaced all 16 spark plugs along with some of the BOOTS. I installed a drop-in K and N air filter along with a new PCV valve and engine air temperature sensor. I liked the sound of the police performance exhaust so I only installed new Magna Flow high performance catalytic converters, along with four new oxygen sensors. I have fogged the intake with sea foam several times myself, to include cleaning the throttle plate. The contract mechanics told me they fogged at every service. The engine oil pan had a very small leak so I replaced the gasket torqueing the bolts to spec, as well as using synthetic oil resistant RTV silicone. I also painted the oil pan. I removed the rear lower splash shield under the engine for photos. The splash shield is now back on the car. I drove the car noticing the pan still gets a little oily but not enough to leak on the driveway. I can however get some on a white rag after a long drive. I have never had to add oil to this car between oil changes and have not attempted to use any liquid fixes. According to the city shop mechanics this car has had only 5W-20 full synthetic oil changes since new. I continued to use 5W-20 full synthetic oil myself. The tires on this car are the police standard Good Year RSA Tires. Real heavy duty. I have always cross rotated them and maintained 33 PSI. The tread depth of 3 of the tires 8/32 or 6mm. The driver’s side rear has 10/32 or 8mm. I just rotated them. The driver’s side rear has a small plug in the tread close to the edge of the tire. I think its fine on the back but might not be on the front. One of the other tires has a plug right in the middle of the tire in the tread. All 4 tires hold air fine. This car is not equipped with a low tire pressure monitor system, so any wheel can be installed as long as they can fit over the 15 inch rotators with duel piston calipers. I replaced the worn 18-inch wheel covers with the nicer dog dish style center caps. All 20 lug nuts are also new. The alignment is perfect. Car has no annoying noises or squeaks in fact it runs and drives excellent. The transmission shifts perfectly smooth. I only used the auto stick once to see if it worked. The air conditioning works great with no oil residue around compressor I have never done anything to the AC system other than replace the cabin filter. I only have one key with fob along with three regular keys one of which is cut down and in a hide a key box. I recently replaced the battery in the key with remote, along with a brand new shell with rubber buttons. I recently installed a Interstate refurbished battery. It did not need to be replaced, I was just not sure how old it was. The new battery works great. The front seats are in good condition and show very little wear. I think the driver’s seat has one very small mark on the seat cushion towards the back. These front seats are still nice and firm and not broke down like other police car seats I have seen. These seats are different than the civilian models. They offer more support and accent the stiffer suspension and larger sway bars nicely. The GO Rhino push bumper is functional and can be easily removed if need be. This vehicle is equipped with the stealth interior lighting package. Map lights are deleted in the rear, and car does not illuminate when doors are opened. Just the mileage lights up when the doors are opened. The front map lights must be turned on manually. The trunk lights up when opened as well as the engine compartment. One of the 3 antennas on the trunk lid are connected to a cable that comes out in the center console. I will include the steel side window guards with screws if you want them. Some small screw holes are present around REAR WINDOW TRIMS. This car has been buffed and polished many times so scratches are difficult to see in photos. I will also include a folder with most of the receipts, and my service records. I think I gave a very honest description of a car that runs and drives excellent. My family and I have enjoyed this car very much, and are only selling due to the purchase of a newer Charger. I have stopped driving it as not to add any more mileage. This car is still registered. I do not recommend this car to be bought for a teenager as it is extremely fast and the traction control system can be one hundred percent disabled with the push of a button on the dash board. This car also still looks very much like a police vehicle and gives a commanding presence on the road. The last picture is not the original window sticker, however I edited it for this car. CAR IS SOLD AS IS
