Up for bids is a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport. Equipped with a 4.0L 6 cylinder engine, automatic transmission, and 4wd(NP-231). Has a Dana 30/Chrysler 8.25 axles. 186K miles. New battery. Jeep runs and drives good. Good oil pressure(between 50 and 60 psi), absolutely no signs of cylinder head problems. Transmission and transfer case operate as they should. No warning lights of any kind. Interior is in decent shape. Headliner is saggy, which is common on these vehicles. Jeep has two keys, one for ignition, the other for the door locks. Was like that when I got it. The following are minor issues that do not effect the drive-ability of the Jeep: AC refrigerant needs topped off(has a charge, so no components need replaced), aforementioned saggy headliner, front speakers don't work, radio is finicky, tires are 20-30% tread, muffler could use a replacement fairly soon, cruise control doesn't seem to work. In the pictures, the right front hood release didn't want to latch. I have opened the hood 3 times since, and it has latched fine every time. Always the big question when it comes the Cherokees...how's the rust? This has probably been a northern Indiana vehicle its whole life. But with that said, this one is pretty solid. Rockers are pretty good, some small 'bleed through' here and there, but not bad. Floors are in good shape too. There is surface rust here and there, but there is no rot from what I can see. Check out the pictures. I would have no hesitation to drive this Jeep anywhere. Keep in mind this is a 16 year old vehicle...it won't be perfect. I have disclosed all the good stuff and bad stuff to my best ability. I do have a modest reserve on this Jeep. It is not excessive and no, I won't disclose what it is. Once the auction is over, I would like the winning bidder to make a $500 deposit via PayPal. The balance needs to be paid with a cashier's check or cash. Helps me know you are legit and serious. I will NOT set up shipping for this vehicle. The buyer can make arrangements, but I will not let it be loaded UNTIL the vehicle is paid in full.
