Vehicle Detail
1970 Camaro SS with RS option. Originally a vinyl top, WAS an automatic console equipped car. build sheet shows this. Clear Colorado Title. Late model roller block 350 CID. It is essentially a ZZ4 short block with TFS G2 heads and a RPM Q-jetintake and a built Q-jet carb. I tried to build the best engine I could afford. It has new everything. From road race oil pan, crank, rods, pistons. Nothing inside is used. I built this to do SCCA sollo II. Heads are Trick Flow G2 twisted wedge heads. These heads were new never run when I bought them. Comp cams Ultra Comp rockers (1.6 ratio). With these rockers the cam is approx a 500 int/540ex lift cam with 208/221 duration. Transmission is a rebuilt T5 5speed WC from an 1988 Camaro with safety bell housing, Rear is the original 12 bolt with 3.08 gears. It needs a rebuild and a POSI. That was my next project. Have Build sheet that was found under the console. A/C removed and firewall cover installed. Power brakes removed and manual brakes installed. They work very well. 12" 1LE rotors up front, SPC adjustable upper/lower arms, Delrin bushings and Eibach springs with tokico shocks all around. Hotchkiss leafs in back. WS6 sway bars. 1 1/4 front and 3/4 rear. It corners very flat. 16x8 GTA rims with 245/50-16 tires. Interior recently done. New headliner, carpet, race seats. I covered some of the parts with carbon fiber wrap. Pillars, door sills, rear shelf aluminum gauge bezel covered in carbon fiber wrap. Homemade door panels with white carbon wrap but have new original type door panels. New weather stripping around the doors. Dash is the original but it is curling up so have a dash cover on it. No cracks though. The metal part of the dash has a speaker cover installed. original speaker slots were damaged years ago. Like that when I bought it.this is a solid car. Since it is bare metal you can see the repairs that were done in 2007. Repairs include both front fenders behind tire, behind rear wheel wells No rust on the floors or trunk. Only hole I have seen is just in front of the passenger rear tire. Dime size. All metal around it feels solid. This is really what you get. This camaro can't hide anything. All body panels are original except for the hood, front nose and bumpers (all fiberglass) and rear spoiler. Have original bumpers. All glass is original except for the front windshield. I am the second owner. Have owned since 1992. Bought from an older couple in 29 Palms. originally bought in Palm Springs and was built in Van Nuys.I drive it regularly and it is dependable and a blast to drive. It routinely finishes mid pack at my solo II meets regularly beating Miata's, S-2000's, Porsches and the like. It is a stiff ride but gets the job done. It just needs a new home and owner who can really finish her up. She is an outstanding starting point for a restomod. Paypal deposit within 24 hours of auction end(non refundable, make sure you want what you are bidding on!), Full payment within 7 days Buyer responsible for shipping (you could fly or drive here and take the Camaro cross country with no problems). Have a box of extra parts. On Mar-26-17 at 09:08:47 PDT, seller added the following information: No parts for the A/C , no original seats, no brake booster (manual brakes work very well with proportioning valve) no roll bar set up.Original color was #58 Autumn Gold with a black vinyl top. The bumpers on there now are fiberglass but I have original bumpers front and rear. RS nose is fiberglass, don't have original (it curled up bad). On Mar-26-17 at 19:57:22 PDT, seller added the following information: OK, all repairs were performed in 2006-2007 while I was in Iraq. I called the guy Body Man JIM, He should have been Metal Man JIM as when I first met him he was reconstructing a mustang frame. He put rear patches on both original fender. Made patches for small areas behind the rear wheel openings, and patched up the area just behind the right door.EXTRA parts. Have all the moldings plus extra. I always grabbed extra if I found it in the bone yards. One rear seat and one rear seat cover. New tail light lenses for brake and reverse, side markers front and rear, SS emblems, 350 emblems, mounting bracket for the A/C condenser, A/C vent tubes for under the dash (no A/C dog house/compressor/condenser) The A/C evaporator/housing/doors/heater core are still under the dash and I use the heater on cool days. Trunk molding, set of extra wiper arms, extra set of headlight bezels, extra rear deck filler panel, brackets to mount lower moldings (moldings for below doors are not present), brackets to mount front bumper, original rear bumper and bumperettes. On Mar-28-17 at 14:18:03 PDT, seller added the following information: Look up SPC performance and navigate to product/GM muscle car. Adjustable uppers and tubular lowers for the sec gen F body manufactured by Specialty Products Company. This camaro was their R&D for fitment and testing back in 2007. Go to the GM muscle car page and look for the SEC GEN F body & B body. On Mar-28-17 at 21:58:10 PDT, seller added the following information: SOLID floors, trunk and roof (no damage from vinyl top). Was a California car from 1970 till 1992 when I brought it here. Always garaged and you can't really drive it in the snow. No big hits in the front or rear. Damage on pass door was after I arrived here in Denver and that was a parking lot rub. Drivers door was done by original owners. I found to much bondo for my liking so I took it off and used a stud welder/slide to pull dent out and get body line back. That is also when I took the rest of the car to bare metal and found no hidden damage. Reason for selection of certain parts. Weight reduction- A/C delete, manual brakes, T-5 5 speed (weighs 75lbs), glass bumpers and nose, racing seats, 16" GTA wheels are 17lbs each, Aluminum radiator. This equals about 3200lbs. Poly body/sub-frame mounts. All you need is a decent paint job for this to be a good looking, dependable, great handling driver. Seems like the next decent Camaro is around $20K, the one 70 Camaro in Canada is a shell/racer for $14k and then everything else is $30k and above.
