TOYOTA RAV4 1996 198,000 MILES GREEN 4 DOOR 4 WHEEL DRIVE AIR CONDITIONING POWER WINDOWS POWER DOOR LOCKS ROOF RACK I'm the second owner of this Rav4. I bought it about 6 1/2 years ago with 82,000 miles on it. It's running right now but there problems with it that would need to be repaired. Problems with it are as follows: When starting up recently I kept hearing a noise that sounded like a belt not functioning properly. I brought it to a local mechanic and was told that the timing belt has an idling problem and would cost close to $1000 because he would need to diagnose what is causing it to not properly idle. I had a complete timing service done 2 years ago at 176,221 miles which included replacing the timing belt, water pump with housing, oil pump gasket, power steering belt, and all timing seals. Left front strut is broken and needs replacement. The door locks will occasionally freeze on extremely cold days. This occurred on one instance this winter. I had a mechanic make the front passenger door manual so it's not controlled by the automatic door switch. To have the drivers door fixed you would need a replacement door latch installed. The Car has no dents or rust and hasn't been involved in any accident by myself or the previous owner but you'd need to verify that with a Carfax report if you desire. Has 4 Starfire tires which I believe has about 10,000 miles of tread wear left. Also has an excellant spare Yokahama tire. The air conditioning and heat work well.
